I can't remember what year it was, probably mid to late 80's or whenever the dawn of the yuppy was. We used to stand by the tea bar and there was this bloke, with gaint Timmy Mallett glasses who used to sing out "Chelsea, Chelsea, Ra, Ra, Ra, Chelsea, Chelsea Okay Yah.!"

Something that's been banished from my mind ever since I last heard it, until tonight, think it was the promotion year.

I used to stand up the tea bar when I started taking my little sis and one of my younger bruvs because they liked to stand against the railing looking over the Bovril stairs, always a good view up there as well.

Wasn't that where the ICF came unstuck in 84 as well?

We used to occassionally stand at the tea bar bit in the 70s, do you remember the supporter who used to shout out Phillips you useless B**rst8d throughout the whole of a match, even when J Phillips was not even playing? Our third choice keeper DR used to stand more or less next to him as well.

I can remember both Millwall and Spurs coming in the in the late 70's just before kick off where Chelsea piled down onto them and they had to escape onto the pitch surround. The West Ham was the 3-1 or 3-0 match where the ICF left the West Stand and came in on both sides of the Shed at the same time. I've never witnessed another game like that one with so much violence in different parts of the ground. To give them credit it was them turning up everywhere unexpected but they were at their peak in those days.

Just had a moment the other night when I remembered coming into the ground at that turnstyle.....always a p1ss at the urinals on the left after a skinful, then up the stairs to my beautiful Stamford Bridge. Remember a good group of lads who went up there from South London somewhere I think. A bloke called Slobby Barry was one of them.

My Dad would take me in the early 70s and we'd sit in the West Stand. Later I'd venture into The Shed. Usually we'd be in the West Side of The Shed. With the rest of the Whitton mob! (Mob? LOL) All six of us! But my best memories are the West Stand benches with Dad.
Train to Putney. Short walk round the corner, and the tube to Fulham Broadway. Good days!

like many started in the middle of the shed early 70's ,then the white wall and then over to the left side....i spent many a game sitting on the terraces chatting to mates while a sh*te game went on it the back ground...and i loved every minute of it,....

on a different subject many on here have mentioned the terrace charcters we all knew and loved, does anybody remeber seeing a bloke early 80's with a full spiders web tattoo on his face ...i only saw him a few times and everybody and i mean eveybody gave him a wide birth. One game i swear he was actually glue sniffing on the terrace ....gods honest truth...fukc knows what the current lot of our pc bigrade would make of him
