Also found this clip on that site, highlights of Chelsea v Birmingham in the FA Cup 3rd Round, 1969/70, our first win on the road to Wembley. I was at this game, in which Chelsea wore the yellow & blue away kit for the home colour clash. The footage is only in black and white, but shows some great views of Stamford Bridge.

thats superb, excellent find. is it worth having a browse of that site for other chelsea stuff or is it only what you and BB have found?

Well worth a browse - I've found highlights of at least two other Chelsea games from the 60's, but haven't had time to have a proper look yet.

That footage of the Chelsea fans was interesting, though I found the cameraman's obsession with young lads a bit disturbing

Shame he never went into the Shed, might have seen a few familiar faces. I think the game was against Man.City, so I'd have been in the North Stand end hoping for a friendly chat with Citeh fans (not that they ever brought many to the Bridge in those days).

Ah, this is more like the Chelsea that I know and love. I was only 6 months old when this was played, so couldn't afford the fare...

Strangely though, I mastered the art of crawling and rolling after leaving the pub before the match (mind you, I was at least five by then)

that footage has taken me right back to my youth.

It's very vivid. What's amazing is to be reminded of how the Shed was full of kids, who paid 25p to get in and could just turn up and stand with their mates. I remember a pint costing under 30p in the mid 70s, so by that measure kids should be getting into the Shed for under £3 these days.
Talk about inflation and pricing kids out of football.

To be honest, you used to get very few kids in the Shed - they wouldn't have been able to see anything. The footage shown was taken from the walkway in front of the Shed, and the first barrier was always full of kids - but they weren't in the Shed - the walkway was about 20 or 30 yards in front of the Shed itself. I loved the footage in that clip, but as I stated before, it's a shame the camera didn't actually venture into the Shed, that would have been great

You're right on the prices though - a pint of Double Diamond was about 25p a pint by the mid-70's! When I first started going to the Bridge in 1967 it cost 2/-6d for kids to get in (12.5p), and 5 bob for adults (25p) - and a programme was 6d (2.5p).

Fantastic footage. The bovril gate entrance looks so small, dark and "old", but it took me back to all those games I watched there.....I recall the biggest thrill was always just after going through the turnstiles there. You then came to the stairs leading to the terraces (under the cafe). First game of the season going up those stairs and coming out to get my first glimps of The Bridge, the stand, the pitch.......so very vivid.
