Great link. What a miss by their number 7. 4 yards out, middle of the goal, keeper stranded and he puts it over the bar.

1-0 down bad mistake from turnbull. very young side out, nice to see kakuta back. bruma playing as a deep midfielder which is a bit strange.

Turnbull is having a mare. Another mistake and it's 0-2.

That defence looks scary, Villa should have just got a 3rd

Bloody hell, we're terrible! Still, I suppose it's only to be expected with most of the reserves now out on loan

My grandfather was a keeper in 1950. He could probably do a better job than Turnbull has done today. Absoutely awful performance and the only one to blame for all three goals. Not very promising at all.

Studge hits the bar with a superb freekick

Sturridge looking decent tonight - must admit, Villa look very good though

Tonight is Turnbull's night isn't it. That would be some kind of a record...4 goals and the keeper has a huge part in all of those.

Well that was pretty comprehensive - 4-0 to Villa, and it could have been a lot more.
Very poor performance by Chelsea, but as I said before, a lot of our reserves are now out on loan. The only positives for me were Danny Sturridge, Michael Woods & Gael Kakuta (who should have been playing further up the pitch). I don't understand why we had 5 defenders on the pitch (Nana, Bruma, Hutchinson, Magnay & Gordon), maybe we played one of them in midfield? Didn't look like it to me though.
Villa are the reserves Champions from last season, and they looked it - I was very impressed with Marc Albrighton, Chris Herd and Barry Bannan.
No doubt we'll learn from this and improve - the sooner the better

I had to og out on a standby but from what I saw Aston Villa are a cracking side, our goalie flattered them but they were very quick and a good passing side

Yeah, our reserve defence has looked very, very dodgy from what I've seen, and from the sounds of it tonight was no different.

I seen Turnbull in pre-season and he made me wonder why we bothered. Hope that someone is seeing something in him that I've not!
