I dont even know how to react to this. I would be more mad, but im used to such knobery from the people that run football it doesnt shock me.
FIFA are trying to make an example of us because of the young talent poached by English sides from continental teams (for example, Man Utd stealing the Italian teens). With Blatter at the helm, no doubt his pal Platini figured they would make a big deal out of one case.
But if this is the way that transfer was handled by our scouts and youth deveolpment, then its a f**king joke in itself too. Its just embarrassing. I hope Kakuta was worth it, considering we've seen him all of about 10 minutes the last two years.
On the upside, we might actually play some youth players now. And I doubt Roman was ever going to spend really big next summer anyway. We will just make do if there is no appeal

What the hell is going on ?
What have we done exactly to warrant the severity of this punishment ?
Did we rape and pillage their commuinty ?
Surely Real Madrid and Citeh are looking at lengthier bans ?

Didier's right! I mean wtf!?! Surely this is one of those things we get reduced on appeal. Two transfer windows, and we can't sign anyone? That's ridiculous it sets a ridiculous precedent, where is the legal basis for this? Surely this is a restriction of trade or something like that. Oh well guess we better bunker down, and have faith in the boys we got, that or hope that Zhirkov and Sturridge are the next Ronaldinho and Ronaldo.

And it looks as though Kakuta has been banned for four months too
Perhaps they were waiting for him to come back from his double ankle breaks before banning him - he's been out for about a year - how convenient the timing of this has been - especially after sitting on it for 2 years

Just on SSN now that the club is preparing a statement.
I'm stunned tbh, so maybe its best to wait and see what the club puts forward so we can get a better idea of what exactly is going on.

Disgrace.
Strange how we are still allowed to play the bloody game of football. Must say they were generous with us.

This has happened before - to Roma

The timing of this announcement is very dubious... RIGHT after the transfer window closed?
It seems like we will appeal to The CAS "which is world sport's final court of appeal".
The article says the transfer ban was cut, but it doesnt say how long though.
Surely Mexes is more valuable than Kakuta?

Its been described as "tapping up" by a Sports lawyer on SSN........WTF?
This goes on all the time. As mentioned earlier, Arsenal, ManCity, Mannu, etc...have all done it. Why are we being singled out ?

We need to shove contracts in front of those near the end or we could be f**ked when the window opens again and other clubs look at our players.

Oh dear. Bit harsh this isn't it?
With this same logic Madrid shouldn't be allowed to sign players for the rest of the century.

Well, i dont believe it will stand in full if we appeal. But it shouldnt affect the players at all.
We still have a potetential title winning squad right now, and I doubt we would have added to it in January anyway. We just need to push on.

Chelsea FC, soon to be renamed the Evil Alliance FC have been banned from playing with 11 players, and will have to field a five-a-side team for the next eight years after FIFA discovered that one blade of Stamford Bridge's grass was 1mm too long. Chelsea have also been forced to name Dave Beasant as their first choice keeper, Chelsea getting away with murder as usual as Platini allegedly wanted to only allow Chelsea to play a goalkeeper if he was suspended upside down from the crossbar.
In a press conference, Platini was quoted saying
"Well I just plain don't like Chelsea. Ever since Gianfranco Zola slept with my wif- I mean, Chelsea have repeatedly broken footballing laws and should be punished as such. *cue evil laughter*"
Didier Drogba was allegedly seen applying war paint and sharpening a chainsaw at Chelsea's Cobham training ground, but these reports have yet to be verified.

Obviously every case is different but at least it says we have a chance. It was a one year ban on Roma according to this article

How did it go? "Ronaldo's transfer fee is high, and 80 million could buy alot of bread for the people, but entertainment is nourishment for the people too!"

I will try and be a bit more reasoned about this, rather than reacting like it is some almighty conspiracy.
First of all- do not mention other clubs. This is not a case of 'tapping up'- this is a case of directly influencing Gael Kakuta to breach his contract so he could transfer for free to Chelsea. In addition, Lens is the first club to actually try and pursue this in a tribunal, instead of just accepting compensation.
Some notes:
- In all the transfer news, Kakuta was apparently allowed to transfer for free (minus an arbitrary compensation fee) as he had not signed a professional contract- ie like Fabregas, Woods, Taiwo et al.
- Chelsea apparently "gifted" Lens 200,000 euros as compensation.
- Lens are claiming that Kakuta breached the terms of his contract (how is not certain)- and that Chelsea induced him to do so.
In other words, we are accused of doing the same deed Mikel's agent did.
Is this true? FIFA's DRC has provided a judgement. This is not legally-binding, and can probably be contested in the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and the EU court system.
Until we know exactly how Kakuta breached his contract and how Chelsea reportedly helped him, we cannot judge for ourselves whether Chelsea is truly innocent or guilty.

As some of you have said, lets hope this forces us into using some of our exceptional youngsters, alongside the brigade that just signed extended contracts, and as a result we improve and win more trophies.

Initially I thought this was some action taken due to our rulin over the Mutu incident, but this is a SHOCK!
First Platini and now Blatter.
It's all a conspiracy.
