I agree he should be on the bench most games.

He can get plenty of time if we're spanking the opposition (like we frequently did last season), or if we need a spark and nothing seems to be working.

Josh McEachran is better player than Gael Kakuta.

He has come in leaps and bounds, but is he better than Kakuta? I think at the moment Kakuta and Bruma look like the most likely players to make the first team.

One is close to breaking into the first team and the other a yougster breaking into the reserves, very unfair to compare the two.

I agree. They are different kind of players, so we shouldn't really compare them, although I do have to agree, I have bigger hopes for McEachran than I do Kakuta.

Kakuta is still only 19 I know, but by now, if he's as good as people were saying or predicting, you would have thought he'd have figured in the first team squad more than he has. Last season was a bit of a write off for him so this coming season he will need to make big steps, whether that's with us or out on loan.

McEachran on the other hand is a player I predict will go all the way with Chelsea. The first time I saw him play for the youth team he had that certain something that made him stand out and he's got better and better and is only just 17.

I know we hear stuff like this all the time with young prospects, but believe me, McEachran is the real deal. I'll be astounded if he isn't an England International regular by the time he is in his early - mid 20's (he already has a lot more ability than the current England midfield - that's not saying much I know!!)

at youth level kakuta has shown by far more end product and consistency. the amazing second leg cup final performance is going to put unnecessary pressure on josh I think. both have wonderful natural ability though.

I think young Josh`s huge progress this year should also be taken into account. Up until this season i dont think he was a name on many peoples radar, in fact im sure i read some people in the academy were surprised by how good hes been this season as he hadnt really stood out that much.

don't get me wrong, there's a lot that's special about him. if we were writing like sensationalist red top journos we'd say he has the look of a young guti or iniesta. kakuta is a clever passer himself but josh has that pure flowing style of football everyone loves. gael is mainly dribbing and directness. it's why cristiano ronaldo will never be as good to watch as zidane. the former is ALL end product but the latter does things that stastistical analysis struggles to make sense of.

all I'm saying is that josh still has plenty of off days (which is natural of course)

I meant people in the club and the fans. Kakuts been known since 15, as have plenty others. What i meant was in the youth teams he hadnt really stood out. Hes progressed massively this season and looks an incredibly talented prospect.

Agreed. I don't know why he didn't play in most games last season... Carlo didn't trust him, but now I hope that he will...

Carlo has been singing his praises, last season he was going throught the whole "ban" and he was still proving himself. So surely he is close to breaking into the first team this season

I recored the Chelsea vs. Wolves 4-0 at home(full match). Kakuta came on in the 59th minute and I watched him from the minute he came on to the final whistle. Very Skilful. Should be in the first team for small games e.g. Carling Cup, FA Cup 3rd Round, Soft Opponants in the league etc. Soft Opponants in the league e.g. Blackpool(no disrespect to any soft opponent in the Premiership), Wolves, West Brom(first game, put him on the bench).

Kakuta will be very good for us in the future as long as Carlo gives him more minutes. Im surprised we didn't see him that much last season after the way he played against wolves.

The more I think about it Ramires may well be it for us in the transfer window, so I wouldn't be suprised if he saw some solid game time with us this season. McEachran will probably make his first team debut at some point as well I'd say.

Just a heads up that Kakuta scored for France in their U19's semi against Croatia yesterday. Not a stunner but a good finish none the less.

The goal chance came because of a mistake by the Croatian player, but he was in the right place at the right time and reacted well when the ball came to him.

Kakuta has been more famous since all the Brouhaha and controversies surrounding his transfer -_-
