I am not holding my breath. Aren't we all pretty well aware of the last Brazilian midfielder named Lucas who came to the English Premier League?

I know.
It's always a bit of a gamble when signing someone young. They might have potential, but there's no way knowing if he will reach his full potential.
I mean, we've seen "huge talents" like Reyes, Jeffers and such who didn't exactly become great players.
From what I can tell Piazon is rated better than Kaka at the same age. But I guess he can still become only an average player. On the other hand, maybe he will become a new Kaka.
It's a gamble, but it might pay off.

Braziliant news.
Seriously though, if we keep going this way we will be fielding half the Brazilian national team. Not a bad thing though.

Sao Paulo have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Chelsea for Lucas Piazon.
The 17-year-old midfielder will move to the Premier League champions in January 2012, which is the first transfer window to open after he turns 18 later this year.
The deal is worth around £5.3million, 80 per cent of which goes to Sao Paulo, with rest divided between the player's camp.
Piazon has never played a senior game for Sao Paulo and is not to be confused with his team-mate Lucas, who recently starred alongside Neymar for Brazil's Under-20 side at the South American Youth Championship.
Chelsea have fought off interest from Juve to clinch his signature, after he underwent a medical in London earlier this month.
Piazon is yet to put pen-to-paper as he had to fly to Ecuador to participate in the South American Under-17 Championship.
Sao Paulo vice-president Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva confirmed the deal was in place, and was done so they could pay for the signing of Luis Fabiano, who they brought back to Brazil last week.
"It is a big deal for the club," he confirmed.
"The value of it is almost the same as that of Luis Fabiano.
"He nearly joined Juventus earlier this year, but now everything has been resolved."

Dont get me wrong. I am excited as I always am when we sign the next etc etc and so on. But the fingers have been burnt so many times with the new Crespos and the new Inzaghis that I am saving my excitement for the time when he makes his first first team appearance.

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Sao Paulo starlet Lucas Piazon when he turns 18, in a move that will see him join the Premier League champions in January 2012.

Roman Abramovich: Chelsea owner.
Piazon, dubbed by some in his homeland as the new Kaka, is currently playing for Brazil in the South American Under-17 Championship and the deal is reportedly worth £5.3 million.
The player was also courted by Juve, who appeared to have won the race for the teenager two months ago after he spent a week training with the Italian giants. That sparked erroneous reports he would join them in January next year. Instead, he is set to move to Stamford Bridge in line with FIFA laws after Sao Paulo agreed to sell him.
Sao Paulo vice-president Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva confirmed the deal was in place, and was done so they could pay for the signing of Luis Fabiano.

Piazon has never played a senior game for Sao Paulo and will sign the deal when he returns from Ecuador next month.

We did not sign that Lucas. We signed the 17 year old. He actally looks like Kaka. That Lucas is the Lucas that played with Neymar on the U20 team. The Lucas we signed plays for a different Brazil team. Check this link for a picture:
