It didnt work with the players we have, if he wants to try it again then he will bring in the players needed i wuold think. Wuoldnt be such a bad thing if we can switch between diamond and 4-3-3 though, the more ways of playing we have the more chance of winning over a season.

Fulham have signed Senderos from Arsenal. I actually think that is a decent signing for them. Don't get me wrong I am not about to suddenly claim that Senderos is a great centre half but I do think he is better than he gets credit for. OK Drogba scared the heeie jeebies out of him but that happened when he was very young and Drogba has scared the heebie jeebies out of much more experienced defenders than Senderos.

With regards to David Villa signing for Real Madrid, how come they were4 able to sign him up and display him in front of their fans before the transfer window had officially opened? He signed and was paraded in May and the transfer window didn't open until June 1st.

1. You mean Barca, not Real.

2. They are Barca and rules are "flexible". It could be technically all OK and in the end it doesn't really matter, so I wouldn't fret too much over it.

Bonus for us though, we have struggled against Fulham of late but if Senderos plays the enxt time then Drogba will have a field day again, leaving Senderos a blubbing, swiss mess on the pitch.

Toure?..No.. From a monetary point of view that seem like a good deal, but selling our best player/captain for money and a barca reject will be doing some damage to the club that 40m cannot fix( in the hands of wenger anyway.)

@ Ruh Buh Juh : yes, ramsey could be a future solution,but I have no idea what will happen to ramsey post-injury, really afraid that it may go the Eduardo way.

The latest official news is that David Silva has joined Citeh on a 27 mln deal.

Greedy? Were all the players that joined us at the time when we were the rich ones greedy pricks? It's quite obvious he loved Valencia and getting them as much money as possible was key and he is still very young so he has years ahead of him to get into the champions league with City.

When we want someone on this forum we go on about that person being a brilliant player but when he signs for someone else he will become a flop and he's greedy.

you're missing the point. do you honestly believe that David Silva "always wanted to join Man City?" when roman took over, i don't remember a single occasion when we outbid or even attempted to outbid the then champions, just because we could. in fact it was the opposite - clubs would see that we were in and raise the asking price accordingly. Man City have arguably done exactly the same with Silva as they did with Robinho (forget for now that many of us didn't want him, that's not the point either), which was to offer a package that no other Premier League team, including ourselves, could possibly match. and in common with Robinho, Silva has also gone back on his previous statements - how he'd love to play for Chelsea has now become "I've always wanted to play for City" and has turned down the opportunity to play in the Champions League simply for the sake of a higher wage packet.

so yes i'd say an accusation of greed is justified.

So you think he always wanted to sign for City? If any of our players siad they had always wanted to sign for Chelsea when they came we would have seen right through it for what it was, and attempt to get the fans on his side. Plus, we were an established top 4 club in the champions league and were much more of a draw than city currently are, other than wages obviously.

You dont know what goes on though do you, we make assumptions. The Valencia presidant could of simply mentioned us for getting more money out of City, we could of pulled out of the deal because City simply bid more for him. We just dont know what goes on and he's not going to say oh yeah i dont like Chelsea and thier players if a reporter asks him is he? Of course he's going to say good things about any club unless he has some sort of personal grudge against them. If he was asked about Man Utd, im sure he would go on record and say it would be a great team to play for. I just don't like the fact that a player who is talked up to be brilliant on this forum and a player we would like to have signs for Man City and now he's deemed a flop.

Like it or not Man City, CL or no CL is still an attractive club to play for if your young and have alot of time ahead of you.

I cant believe hes gone to Bolton, just like i couldnt believe he was dropped by City so easily. Quality winger and should be playing for a better team than Bolton.

'arry wanted him at Tottenham during the winter window, but he was told Citeh would need him. To be fair, he played a few games, but an injury put an end to his season. He is better than Bolton, but he had requirements as to the length of his contract and they may have been the only teams willing to meet those. Quality player, no doubt, and I will be hoping he does very well, particularly in the games against the other big teams.

Apart from the injuries he's a quality player. Seems the recycling has begun at City, wonder what the loss they made on him was? I'd say the reason he signed for Bolton was probably not wanting to move his family away from the area. I read somewhere that Nico lived in Manchester during his stint at Bolton, so Petrov is perhaps doing the same.

Petrov was a Frank Shinawatra purchase, so I doubt the current ownership is that worried about what he cost.

But the verb recycling is quite apt. With all the talent they are buying, they are gonna need to get rid of some of their squad soon. And not everyone is gonna be able to afford their salaries.

I hear SWP might be moving on again because they turned down his request for £100k a week. Cant see many clubs wanting to sign him on that.
