You know it's bad when Man City won't sign you on because you're too average and your wages are too high...

Petrov is a quality player. Experienced, hardworking and technically sound. Will be perfect for bolton if coyle wants them to play passing football. Coming season, they may finish in the top ten comfortably.
Offtopic, Bolton plays fifteen games in their preseason. thats one hell of a preparation!!

Yaya Toure has signed for Citeh. So the brothers are together now and City seem to mean business this summer.

They have meant business every summer for the past three years. Until they get a coach with a proven track record of putting something together, or get more than everyone's unused parts for their backline, they will continue to struggle.
In other news Bojinov (another city castaway) is now a Parma player and Raul is in talks to move to Shalke. Great move, imo, and he has alot more goals at the top level

Somehow, Joao Moutinho has moved from Sporting Lisbon to Porto for the equivalent of 11 million euros and is being slammed by the chairman of Sporting for how he wanted out. Strange strange strange
Wasnt this guy one of the most wanted young players on the planet last summer? 23 years of age, and if he improves alot I can see Porto selling him for triple that in a season or two.

Reports coming out that Utd have bid 29 million for Wesley Sneijder, amazing to think Inter signed him on the cheap from Real.

I've said this several times now but Jose had the smartest buys last summer. Real spent the most, but Inter spent the smartest. He fixed the obvious weaknesses in the team and they won everything.
Sneijder was the signing of the season, closely followed by Lucio.

I said it at the time, and I'll say it again....I think we missed the boat in not going for Sneijder on the cheap when he was just warming the bench at Real.

Arsenal completes second signing.
A factfile about his career is given here
From the link:
He was playing in france second division football one year back. Transferred to lorient for 1.8m or so. After one season Lorient gets around 10m!..Our initial bid was reported to be around 4.5m Euros.
I hope he is worth paying 10m. Anyway i am happy to see wenger finally willing to pay for the players he like.

What makes me happy? He is six feet or more, a defensive signing with a 10m price tag. He is 24yrs and can possibly grow a beard. What was the last time we made such a signing?
Agree that there is a risk. Its not very often that Arsene risks 10m+ on a player. When he does, i expect the signings to do well and they generally do. Considering that we may lose 4 defenders in the summer, and top 4 premier league defenders costs ridiculousmoney its a risk well worth taking.

Agree with Mad Mac and Spiller - A bargain, who I saw several times for Real, and he always looked 'the business'
I don't know why we never showed an interest - too late now though

In other news, City rejected a 17 million GBP bid for Robinho from.....Besiktas? If he wouldve moved, thats was a mistake.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but Simon Kjaer who was apparently a big target for a number of premier league clubs has joined Wolfsburg. No idea why he'd want to play for Steve McLaren. They might have a decent backline there next season with Barzagli, Friedrich and Kjaer as first choice Central Defenders.

Reports say City is after Balotelli and Dzeko. Will it be a recordbreaking summer in signings for one team? Looks like it..
Although it is not as easy as buying the best there is and win, City is starting to look really dangerous. I mean we lost our both games against them and now the team is even stronger.
Will be tough season ahead for Arsenal and L*verp**l. CL spot is not given. Spuds are very good as well. I think it is us, Manure and City fighting in the top.
Maybe we should look at some City players as their team is growing..Not one player come to mind at the moment but there must be quality in the offering.
