Luckily our first 5 league games are not too tough, so we ought to be able to scratch out some results.

I always get a bit apprehensive when I see a comment like that. For me, that's our cue to drop some points :greysweat:

I hope we won't drop any points. We have to win with MU on Sunday!  ::ChELSeAFaN::  ::ChElSeaFLag::

I 've been reading all the comments on the Hamburg match . I was disappointed with the defensive mistakes . But I often notice that our players are do the most number back passes to a keeper during a match. Every defender/player does it , but our guys does it more often. It really kills me seeing a back pass when the player could have passed to another player or cleared the ball.

Sometimes the rationale could be that we could keep possession of the ball , but in most cases , our GK kicks the ball to clear it . I think the back pass ( when it is not required ) affects the tempo of the game, dunno how others see it.

We must give Mikel time to blossom. He is very good with the ball, but as some one noted , he is at times slow to move the ball forward. He has improved his passing and will only get better. I would like to think he will go on to become a very good asset to chelsea.

I agree. Frustrates me no end when we keep passing the ball back to the keeper and the bad thing is, this suggests players are not comfortable on the ball and taking the easy option.

JT is our worst offender which is strange as at times he carries the ball forward well.

Worst thing about it is that Petr inevitably puts his big left foot through it and belts the ball long at Didier and 90% of the time we lose possession anyway.

A pretty sorry set of results for pre-season really... I know that the youngsters were out for all but the last two matches but we looked poor all over the pitch.. let's hope they can conjure up a bit of passion for Sunday... I don't deem it the be all and end all however it will be a case of trying to draw first blood for the season to come..

Pretty sure it will be slow start to the season. Its only natural after the win last year.

I have been very dissapointed with Chelsea's pre-season's results this summer. The form that we have shown has been our worst set of results for at least 10 years, and the worse under the ownership of Roman Abramovich. What has been the most disspointing ubove all has been the defensive aspect of our game, in that we have been conceding many poor goals. The worse being the goal scored by Berbatov against us in the community shield. I personally feel that Hilario should have stayed on his line or at least not come out as much as he did.

The only positive to come out of pre-season has been the fact that we have been able to score at least a goal in every game that we have played, which is encouraging. From what I have seen I personally that we will not win anything this season.

i can't argue that pre-season results have been disappointing, but i don't think we should place too much emphasis on those consecutive defeats. and that includes the Charity Shield. even more than usual, the recent World Cup means that the primary purpose of these games is to get the players match fit.

other positives include Michael Essien's return to fitness, the opportunity for many of us to get a look at a few of the up and coming Chelsea youngsters, especially in the first couple of games. I'm sure we would have seen more of Kakuta and Borini if they hadn't been away with their respective international sides at the time.
