heres the real deal.

I wonder why Platini is looking so glum. Judging by the look on his face, you'd think France had just lost the match.

The u-19's save the face of French Football.  Also, I really hope we give this guy a chance.  I think we could have him in the squad straight away and quell all these "creative mid" rumours.

here's what the official site has to say:

Quote

KING KAKUTA IN FRANCE

Gael Kakuta created the winning goal as France claimed the Uefa Under 19 European Championship on home soil with victory over Spain on Friday evening.

The Frenchman joins English Under 17 internationals Josh McEachran and Nathaniel Chalobah (still a schoolboy) in becoming a European champion, following their success earlier in the summer when they also triumphed over the Spanish.

Kakuta played the full 90 minutes as France came from behind to win 2-1 in Caen, northern France, and it was from his cross that Alexandre Lacazette headed home the winner five minutes from time.

Spain had taken the lead early on when Liverpool forward Daniel Pacheco set up Rodrigo to finish, but Arsenal man Gilles Sunu's equaliser four minutes into the second half gave France hope of avoiding their cruel defeat to Spain in the 2008 Under 17 Final (11 players who started that game also began this one, including Kakuta).

The Chelsea man forced Spain goalkeeper Alex into a smart save but moments later had the last laugh as he dinked in a delicate cross for Lacazette to head home.

France are the second successive hosts, following Ukraine, to lift the Under 19 title.

Watching Gael in action makes me feel better about not landing an Aguero or Ozil or Dzagoev (sounds like we might not get any of them)...would love to see him and Josh get a lot of experience next year and start developing them towards future CFC legends.

Yeah, unless they bring in a height restriction rule.

Great little player we got on our hands here, but like Carlo said, I think he needs to build up physically. Great player for the future, and we can finally see our academy working well!
