apparently he's a real talent, only 15 years old, and already a regular for the reserves and was on the bench against Newcastle. He won the U17's European Cup in the same team as Josh McEachran. An insider in Cobham has said he's a real prspect. A defender he's in apperance is quite lanky but deceptively strong. He's definately one to look out for. I was just wondering if anyone else knew anythng else about him...

I was certainly impressed when I saw him pre-season. Amazingly talented for such a young man.

So far so good from what I've seen, but we need to remember...he's 15!

it speaks volumes that he's already been involved with the first team on a number of ocassion, but he needs to keep progressing in tne same manner. Time will tell if he can fulfill his potential.

Looks like he will be on the bench tomorrow may not get game time but the sheer involvement in first team will be a valuable experience.

Absolutely. It's a good sign that a 15 year old kid gets a place on the bench in a Premier League match at a club like Chelsea. Sure, some of the senior players are injured, but he still needs to be very good to get there ahead of some of the more experienced players.

15 years old...it still boggles the mind.
If we played him, would he be the youngest Chelsea player ever?

I would think the youngest in a league match would be high 16's or really early 17's
I think we should play him just for the sake of a new record...bring him on in a game we're smashing someone lol

A quick google search pulled up this.
"James Vaughan was until Jose Baxter came on as a second half sub against Blackburn 16th August 2008 to become the youngest player to have played for Everton at the age of 16 years and 191 days. This beats James Vaughan's record by 80 days. The youngest player to appear in the Premiership is Fulham's Matthew Briggs aged 16 years and 65 days. James Vaughan remains the youngest scorer in the Premiership. "
Here's hoping he breaks the record!

Ian Chico Hamilton was our youngest player ever and not only that he scored too!! He was 16 years and 138 days old when he played against Spurs on the 18th March 1967.

You can't use 15 year olds in the premier league!!
He does look an amazing talent, was very impressed with him in the youth side last season.

Highlighted by the Telegraph as one of five possible "stars of tomorrow". The article includes just the briefest of bio's but even so it's nice to see another Chelsea youngster getting a bit of recognition:

Nathaniel Chalobah: Chelsea
Born: Dec 12, 1994
Position: Defender
Nathaniel Chalobah, 16, regularly leads out the Chelsea reserves after making his debut in August last year aged just 15. The tall defender, despite being born in Sierra Leone, made his debut for the England’s Under-17s aged 14 and has already captained the side. Chalobah can play in central defence or midfield and came through the Chelsea Academy.

Chalobah really does look a great prospect. He is so calm on the ball, his positioning is excellent, great in the air (in both penalty areas) and captains the under 17`s as the youngest player in the squad.
