Garry, sorry mate next to no memories of it at all apart from the scoreline, but it was a full first team run out, Bill Garner scored one of ours and I watched it with my mate Billy Davies who was a gooner. If you can get a programme out of that little lot mate I'll salute you. I was just fortunate growing up where I did in that I could be in the training ground within 2-3 minutes of shutting my front door, saw a lot of the McCreadie team growing up there under Dario Gradi and Ken Shellitto, and as far as I know, Carshalton Blue could tell you for sure, it's still a big area for Chelsea support, carefree.
Whats the lowest Chelsea following you've seen?

The old training ground at Polters Park mate? Tooting & Mitcham now play near there, shame AFC Wimbledon couldnt do a ground share there as it comes under Merton Borough.
Yeah your right mk, the area always has had & still does a large Chelsea following as does other areas nearby like, Sutton, Morden, Wallington, Cheam, Worcester Park, Epsom & Ewell to name a few.
There used to be at least three coaches go to some games from Cheam picking up lads from some of the areas i mentioned even as late as the early 00s.

It's the borderland for sure, as you say T&M's ground is in LB Merton as is the other side of the main road, but the park itself is in Carshalton and is LB Sutton, I was the lookout for the invading Mitcham hordes.
Those Cheam coaches, would that have been all the lads from the Queen Vic and that little wine bar round the corner that later became Tones.

Rose Hill always had a handy little firm as well, back in the 60s there used to be a big firm of mods from Rose Hill & any outsiders always got attacked so i've been told by uncles, some of em & their boys then ran with Chelsea.
Yeah those Cheam coaches did have a lot of the Queen Vic(now shut down) lot on em, though i used to go on them before Tones bar(also now shut) opened & it was full of local lads who ran with CFC at the time early 90s, i watched the QPR game in Cheam sports & social club yesterday which is now owned by Tone, it was as usual full of CFC dads, lads & thugs lol!

It probably wasn't the lowest , and to be honest details are little sketchy , but it was West Ham at home ZDS cup. It was a poxy , but we won.

Chelsea's training ground was in Mitcham, the NAAFI Sports Ground - Poulters Park backed onto it - that area was where Mitcham, Morden and Carshalton all bordered on each other.
