Howard; Cherundolo, Goodson, Bocanegra (capt.), Chandler; Shea, Beckerman, Edu, Williams; Dempsey.

Team against France.  Excited to see Chandler, Shea, Williams and Edu out there (and obviously Clint).

Side note: Boca is (I hope) retiring before the next major tournament, so who takes the armband from him?  You have to figure there are 3 major candidates in Howard, Landon, and Clint.  I'm not a huge fan of GK captains, and while Donovan seems like the obvious choice (and will probably get it), Dempsey's passion makes him my choice.

Personally, I don't see Landon being a huge part of the team when the next world cup comes around. His play has dramatically dropped since the World Cup anyway. I can see Clint getting the armband. One guy I think you didn't mention is Cherundolo. Besides Lichaj, and maybe Spector there isn't much and RB and Steve may be still in play for the next WC. He would be a good choice.

Glad to see they finally got on the scoresheet today, some positives to take forward.

Heard Fabian Johnson was very good today, but I can't confirm that as I was working during the game.

He did play well. A lot more creative than what I expected. The 4-4-2 was so much better and didnt leave altidore isolated. CG was not good at center back so that is still a problem. I just cant help to think about hoe much better the attack would be with Holden in there though. He would really help out the strikers.

Probably not going to be getting much from this game in Italy today, maybe we can knock Maggio out for a couple of weeks though.  :)

Really not a fan of these new kits though.

I actually like the kits. Have you seen the home ones. They look a lot worse. Check out footballshirtculture.com and they are on there.

Interesting to see Boyd get his national debut before his club debut (plays for Dortmund reserves).  

Someone on Twitter said if the USA jerseys look familiar, it's because the Nazis wore them in "Victory".

Did you catch any of the U23 game vs Mexico? We dominated. 2-0. Goals from Agudelo and Mix. Mix's goal was a deflection off of a nice shot from Adu. The U23 team looks good with those players along with Hamid in goal and Bunbury with Agudelo up front.
