Eton Blue at the Chelsea Megastore

It has been revealed that Chelsea are now favourites to land Shakhtar Donetsk flyer Willian Borges da Silva during this summers transfer window.

Despite interest from Barcelona for the 22 year old, sources close to the player have suggested that he would prefer to join fellow Brazilian’s Ramires and Alex at Stamford Bridge and test himself against the best in the Premiership.

Willian has played for the Ukranian side since 2007 scoring 13 goals in over 80 appearances but it his raw pace and amount of assists that have attracted the likes of Chelsea despite Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola being “impressed” when the Spanish giants played them last week in the first leg of their Champions League quarter final.

Figures of £25m have been circulating for the player that can also play as an attacking midfielder and it is believed a bid of around that from the West London club will be enough to secure his services.

Only seen him on youtube, but looks reasonably handy, and if it's that cheap, why not. It's worth a punt. Would certainly be less embarrasing if he slopped than a Shevchenko or a Veron, etc...

Watched a little bit of Dortmund this season. He's just the kind of player we need, good creative midfielder. But the problem with a midfield that needs Josh McEachran, Frank Lampard, Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel, and Ramires to get gametime is that we don't have room for him.

Hiddink might know a little about him if he returns given their Turkish connection.

He would be an absolute steal at 6m euros, really good player who has been the seen for bout 5 years, think he made his debut at 16. Has good leadership qualities and is also a dead ball specialist. If we were looking at cheaper options in the summer, sahin for 6m, and although short term dario srna is available on a free. Which give us more money to chase the likes of neymar/sanchez

Am I missing something; Why do Lamps/Essien & Mikel need game time? Only Josh deservedly requires game time. What Mikel brings to the team besides breaking up opposition play I can't fathom & the whole argument about giving fullbacks license to roam forward is a facade IMO.

He has been one of the best midfielder in the Bundesliga this year. Only 22 and has been playing in the Bundesliga since 2005.

People in Germany say he would be a starter for the German national team if he wouldn't have played with Turkey. I say go and get him Roman! (especially if his clause is true)

And yeah, a friend of mine from Germany told me that Real Madrid were chasing him as well.

Josh McEachran and Sahin would be a beautiful partnership in years to come. Lampard is declining, he shouldn't be allowed to block anybodys playing time quite frankly.

Epic, Frank is old and he is declining, but just quietly a guy named Ryan Giggs who has been in this league for 20 years set up all three goals against us in the CL. Frank is going to need to be slowly phased out over the next few years and saved for matches like those in the past week, but I believe it will be Josh McEachran who will be taking his place not Sahin.

Hey there. Read an article on the mirror, great articles i know right, recommending that Lampard take over as Player-Manager, almost Kenny Dalgish esque and wondered what your opinions would be? I would post the link to the blog/article but not enough posts unfortunately.

I'd be happy to see him come in as Carlos number two, maybe he could get his badges and work under whoever is in charge but I'd say its a couple of seasons early at the moment.

Yeah I'd have to agree with you i think it would be to early at the moment but i think it would be a great idea for the future. He seems to have a great understanding of the game and is a very passionate and driven character, perfectly suited for a position in management. Lampard and Terry as Chelsea's future managerial staff, i can see it now. Well, i can dream atleast.

I dunno, they seem to do a great job on the field both taking responsibility for the team acting as captains in their own right. But yeah i would be suprised if one would be complacent to be a number 2 to the other.

Well terry said a while ago that he wants to be chelsea manager when his playing career finshes. As for Frank..not sure. He's a bit quieter and less outspoken, so it's hard to tell if he'd make a good manager or not, or would even want to be one. I can imagine him being a great coach though.
