The most I've ever seen before a game at a Chelsea away game in my life.

The wall went shortly after Kerry headed the winner if I remember correctly, Sheff Wed slipped up at Cardiff
and we were champions ....

Been trying to catch a video of this game for ages ....

Remember going up there shortly after Milllwall tore the plastic seats out at Luton.

We were in the terraces below and Chels' tore out the seats above and missed the pitch by 'kin miles!

Yeah i'd love to see tv footage of that Grimsby game, it must have been filmed somewhere, you'd think a London news channel for example would have a snippet, but i've never seen it anywhere.

that grimsby town v chelsea game, despite the massive following for chelsea that day me and a couple of mates from donny with a handfull
of 'chelsea vampires' who were all from hull (no idea where their vampires came from) took a rite kicking on cleethorpes station after the game.

well it must have been well after the game as we was the chelsea still about and the grimsby lads were not very forgiving.

Was with SR and two others coming round the corner when about 60 of them charged us. SR said stand and probably in the knowledge that loads of Chelsea were about 50 yards behind us I did. They stopped 2 yards in front of us and I copped some (watered down) amonia in the eye. We then chased after them and every time a copper grabbed me i told them the amonia part of the story and they let me carry on "which one was it lad?" :laugh2: . Never caught up with the c*nts!

This is a great thread. I was a tad young as I started going with my dad in the 82/83 season when I was 7, so some of this is before my time and I was certainly a bit young to be in the thick of it. I especially like those pics from Villa as I remember that very well.

I was recalling this game at Walsall in 89 when we thumped them 7-0. http://www.youtube.c...?v=hedVQRktm3o
If I recall correctly, we sold out our small allocation and were told no entry on the day. But when faced with an extra few thousand Chelsea with nothing else to do but wander down Walsall high street they let everyone in. I’m sure we made up most of the 7000 at the game. I don't really think that the footage does the size of following there that day justice.

The Shot of the Day on the official site is usually worth a look. Today's picture was taken on May 7th 1956, just a few months before I was born:

Heres a video of Stamford Bridge in the 1960s. This is from a Christmas television program in Yugoslavia where following a game between West Ham and Chelsea, Bobby Moore sends a Merry Xmas to the people of Yugoslavia and to his friend (And all time best Yugoslav/Serb player) Dragan Dzajic. Amazing find!

Anyone go the night game up there league cup I presume. Was at the back of their end with one of the blokes who got sent down recently (his nickname was an inner London suburb on the way to Wembley) and his chaps......the whole end parted and we scattered them everywhere. I suppose like everyone else they'll chant "Where were you..." when we draw them in the cup this season !
