Highly rated apparently. Although to be honest, anyone that plays for Spain U-21 and comes from the Barca Academy can't be that bad

Sounds like good news. Cheaper than someone like Parker, far more potential and looks more versatile too. Only downside is the option Barca look like they want in 2013...

Not sure about this buyback business though, would be curious to see what the terms are. I can see Barca getting a permanent right of first refusal at a certain price, but not sure about a buyback.

Seriously? A guaranteed buyback is no better than a loan. So if that were the case, the €5million quoted by Sky would effectively be a loan fee by another name.
I'm not even sure whether a guaranteed buy-back legally binding. "We'll sell you xxx today" but you have to sell it back to us in two years time". Doesn't sound right to me, but what do I know.. Of course it's very possible that Sky have misreported a first refusal clause, after all look at their initial "interpretation" of JT's interview.

I agree. a buyback would be pointless from our point of view.
if he does badly we're stuck with him, if he does well we have little chance of keeping him.
if this is a short term signing to replace essien (and a 20 year old with little first team experience doesn't fit that profile), then we should be making a loan bid.
buybacks are for when a big club sells a prospect to a smaller selling club.
bolton are in talks for jeffren. that is where buybacks make sense, because if he does well they would not be able to keep him, and before he returns they get the benefit of a player they would otherwise be unable to attract.

Buyback is ridiculous. Surely we wouldn't agree to that. First option on him should we decide to sell would be much more acceptable.

I read somewhere earlier that he only has a year left on his contract so surely Barca are not in that great a position to insist on a 'buy back' clause.
If it's true it would not be beneficial to us whatsoever.

Chelsea manager Villas-Boas closes in on £5m deal for Barcelona starlet Romeu
Chelsea have opened talks for Barcelona defensive midfielder Oriol Romeu and are hoping to finalise a £5million deal.
The 19-year-old broke into the first team last season but is finding it hard to become a regular.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas wanted to sign him for Porto and, although Barcelona are willing to let him go, they want an option to buy him back after two seasons. That may prove a sticking point as Chelsea will not be keen if he is a success.
Arsenal have also shown interest in Romeu but he is unlikely to figure in any Cesc Fabregas negotiations.

Seems a good player. Pretty big and physical but with the traditional Spanish touch and passing vision.
Barcelona can f**k off with their buyback clause bullsh*t though, if this turns into Fabregas MK2 I will be pissed.
