Absolutely not. Playing away against Hungary is always tough, even when they're missing great players, so I certainly didn't think it was an easy three points. I knew it would take hard work to win. Unfortunately only a few players showed up for Sweden and our defence was absolute s*ite.

I wouldn't say always, we got a nice self-destruct mechanism perfected throughout the years :) Also usually it's Sweden who gets the 3 points, but maybe it was time to turn the tide for the sake of variety. I wouldn't have bet though that we can do it now without Dzsudzsák. Much less that in the extra time, scoring there and not conceding is a new concept for us :laugh2:
Unfortunately this revival is probably too late, I don't think we have much chance for the second place.

There's always a chance, but we haven't done too well against the Swedes in our recent matches. And besides, the team is going through a transitional period as the older more established players who used to be the spine of our team are retiring and we're now forced to play many inexperienced and/or young players. It should've been done more gradually over the years and now we're paying the price. Then again, we do have a love/hate relationship with our neighbours the Swedes, so I certainly hope that our boys will at least put up a proper fight. If it was Germany, I'd be more hopeful of getting something out of the match... :happy001:

C'mon, you can do it! Use that Finno-Ugric DNA. Give us some false hope ;)

If you are at least building a good squad then these results are not tragic. For the most part of the last 25 years we have been in transition from sh*t to sh*t. But at the moment this seems to be enough against the Swedes if you work hard, so Hyvä Suomi! Well, up until the last matchday at least :)

Yeah, Sweden usually get the three points, but it's usually not an easy victory. Away against Hungary it's usually 1-0 or 2-1 or something and the winning goals have been scored really late. Wasn't one in the 92 minute it something?

Yep. In the same fixture in the 2010 WC qualifying, Ibrahimovic scored in the 92. or 93. minute.

I've got bad memories of last minute goals and Hungary. Well, this one to be specific:

Final match of the qualifier campaign for the 1998 World Cup. A win would've been enough for Finland to secure second place in the group and a place in the play offs. Now THAT is a bitter pill to swallow. I'm not saying we would've gone through from the play offs, but at least we would've had the chance to try.
