To add to the other young players we have tied down this summer, Billy Clifford has signed a 4 year deal today also. Great news for him after he got some game time during the pre season.

Interesting. So suprised that AVB kept playing him at CM in preseason though, since he's  RB and surely a decent young RB would be handy to compliment Bert and PVA on the left..

He's a very versatile player that can play at CM as well. Which he has done often in the past for reserves.

I don't know so much about him, I must confess. Hasn't he been playing CM for the reserves as well though, with Sam Hutchinson playing rightback?

His versatility could go either way for him, it could see him becoming a very useful member of the first team squad or it could see him struggle to make a position his own. He has played at RB and DM for the ressies, and also as a central midfielder in a 4.

4 years is unusually long for a player of his potential. Not saying I don't think he'll make it. Just that he's not a definite like Josh. I also can't see him getting many minutes on the pitch any time soon with Bossy and Ivo in their prime.
Glad to see we're at least giving the lad a chance though
