Look at what these stupid c**ts end up doing.
Sickening.
For a club that allows an entire stand to jump up and down with backs to the pitch to go and treat a pensioner like this is an absolute joke.

Any idea what the guy had done to 'deserve' this ? Disgraceful.

I saw it on Youtube as well.
Apparently the guy refused to sit down. There should be a major enquiry and police/Stewards involved should face prosecution and be sacked immediately w/out pay.

Wow... Unreal. Did the guy pass out or something? I didn't catch how he ended up on the floor but he wasn't moving.
All of this because he refused to sit down?!?!?! Holy f**k...
They should all face prosecution for this. Unbelievable.

Very heavy handed treatment by the Stewards/Police, on the other hand he probably should have simply sat down and enjoyed the match.

This is the description from the Youtube user
Quote
An aging blue in 109 who refused to sit whilst those around him and the away fans stood. Showsec picked him out as their let's-make-an-example-for-the-day (they do this every week) and then called for the police. The bloke in question sat down before the police went to his seat, even with those around him still standing. They went and spoke to him, and, whilst he was sitting down, told them he hadn't done anything wrong. The GMP seized an opportunity, or at least they thought they did, when Balotelli scored to try and manhandle him out of the ground. I didn't see how the man ended up on the floor but he can clearly be heard in the video saying he takes tablets for a heart problem before they took him out and at no point did I see him forcibly resist. Their treatment of him was disgraceful and that's not all. When the GMP waded into the crowd people were getting elbowed out of the way or knocked over, myself and a kid no older than seven included! Completely out of order and an exemplar for any aspiring stewards or policemen and women in how not to defuse a situation. There's also reports of Showsec stewards lashing out at fans. I did not see these events however but the above description is my eye witness account and I would swear to it in court.

Never would of happened in the old days in the middle, most of the time it was the old bill who went flying out, usually to the chant of "Lets go f**king mental"
Thats if they were brave enough to go in, in the first place!
probably just goes to show whats wrong with football in this country now, if you're a genuine fan you get treated like sh*t if your a tourist sitting there knowing nothing you're treated like royalty!

This is a prime example of why they should separate seating. If people want to stand, let a small section stand and enjoy the game as they used to. They do it in Germany and it works fantastically. If people want to sit in peace let them do that, but the fact that they are all mixed up results in this heavy handed, one-rule-for-all crap.
While they shouldnt have targeted him like that, it must be hard to go amid thousands of fans who are calling you a f**king disgrace and telling you to f**k off, sort out a situation like that, and maintain your cool. If the fan does something to piss the stewards off, but stops doing it by the time they bring the police over, youre gonna have a situation where the stewards are totally useless and people can do whatever they like. Obviously here, that doesnt matter, but the next time scousers go flinging poo from the second tier of a stand its gonna be a different story.
Its always interesting to see the different reactions toward police. In America, people would never be so bold as to antagonize cops because some are capable of reacting angrily, and they will probably get away with it. I'm not saying thats a good thing, but looking at people's interactions with police in the UK, and the way they are constantly berated in the press, I dont know why anyone in Great Britain would want to be a cop.

I completely agree Westaway. As someone who (when I was young and dumb) had my fair share of experiences with the police on both sides of the pond, American police have it far easier. Just as an example, I remember being a dumb kid growing up in West London and there was a specific copper who we all hated. He was walking the opposite way down (whatever the tunnel under a road is called, I think there's a specific name for it) . I saw my chance and put my shoulder into him as he walked past and he rammed into the wall. Then I ran off. He started yelling, called me a c*nt which was all very well deserved. And that was it. If I did that out here in the US, he would deploy his firearm and use it. No if and or but about it. And I can recall hundreds of similar incidents that I witnessed that people would never even contemplate in the US.
Every time I talk to a police officer out here in the US, the first thing they always want to know when they hear I'm from England, is if it's true police do not carry guns. They are completely fascinated and puzzled by this, as they can't understand how you could feel safe when the criminal might be armed, but you are not. I can't really answer that for them, as I don't know either.

The death of football.
What a bunch of c**ts. Problem is, they are mob handed, so you can't even stand up for the old boy and let the police know what you think, otherwise they'd be throwing you out too.

Tenuous link but I remember a night game at Villa in the mid nineties-ish (may have lost 3-1? but our lot were singing "more co*ns than Arsenal, you've got more..." and so on and a possie of west midlands finest including one in a flat cap up and said it must stop etc. As they walked back down the steps a chorus of seig heil broke out. The point being that the old bill knew their limits in those days!
