I'm only 22 so this was a bit before my time so can one of the older fans please explain to me something about Bobby Tambling. As our clubs top scorer why is he not an automatic selection? When legends from bygone era's are bought up immediately people say Greaves, Osgood, Bonetti and Harris etc etc and with good reason of course. Undoubtedly legends of the club and fantastic footballers. However Bobby played in hundreds of games for us and had a great goals per game ratio to go with his bucket loads of goals so why is he not mentioned in the same breath as the other greats?

sals: Look down at the Chelsea History section. There's a good article on Bobby Tambling.

Wouldn't class Drogba as a Legend, if Cech signs a new deal and improves his performances as hes been below par for about a year or so now then he'd be a legend for me.

I'd call Mourinho a chelsea legend along with the usual Lamps, JT, Wise and…… Ed De Goey ;)

I think the 'legend' question at a point comes to personal preferences and outside football reasons so I understand why Drogs don't get the nod from most of here but looking at the stats alone...

150 Chelsea goals
Bobby Tambling

202

Kerry Dixon

193

Frank Lampard

179

Roy Bentley

150

Didier Drogba

150

Peter Osgood

150

We bought him for season 2004/05.

Maybe if he scores some crucial goals for us this season and retires at top of his game some might change their view

You need time to forget all the negative things like diving, salary negotiations, fuelling transfer rumours

...

to remember all the crucial goals he's scored and the fact he's been a crucial player defending corners and freekicks and the passion he has shown in many cases like the end of that rigged Barca game and so on. Moments to remember.

WIth drogba, he could well be the most talented Striker we've had here, on his day, at his very best, id say he is up there with the likes of pele. maradona. messi.    Unplayable

Another FA cup on the boot of Drogba, still amazing that some don't count him a legend just yet

I don't understand why people don't class Drogba as a legend. To me Drogba is one of the 3 legends we have in our team right now.

JT.
Frank Lampard.
Drogba.

These are my legends!!!

Drogba is a living legend, hes ability to score vital goals in the huge games, his presence in the team lifts everyone. I was only young when i saw Peter Bonetti in that great FA cup final he inspired me to become a goalkeeper, my all time Chelsea legend THE CAT

I'd definitely class Drogs as a legend, he has his off days but who doesn't, our captain who is of course a legend had an off day on Tuesday but no-one would take his status away.  Drogba had a rough few months to start with with all the diving and play acting and I'm not saying he doesn't now but nowhere near as much and he warrants it with the goals he scores and the defending he does for a striker is outstanding (well he did used to be a defender!)

I think for me his "Its a f**king disgrace" made him even more of a legend.  Not the swearing at a camera but his passion he showed, it proved he loved the club and wasn't here for money and genuinely gave a sh*t.

He always seems to be the one motivating the fans when were playing bad and everyone reacts to it.

I'd love him to stay he's always the fighter in big games, Napoli he was outstanding he's the reason we win big games well one of them!

WHAT DEFINES A LEGEND.......Hes got to be very popular with fans
He has to have shown loyalty n love for his shirt , team , n fans
He had to play quite well
He has to be a good independant player equal to being a good team player

He has to be the sort of chelsea man that plays for the love of the club
and not just for the dosh

There are many ~legends ive seen since the late 60s but overall if i had
to pick one it could only be JOHN TERRY...He is chelsea
