Forget Carols miss, whos the failiure who missed against us on saturday on the rebound from the free kick. Now that was a bad miss.

That was pretty bad. He hit it right at cech. Maybe this topic should be changed to "missing a sitter thread?" Throw some good videos of sitters on here. Kalou may make the thread too many times though.

A 19 year old defender who's played 10 league games in his career. Not a 50m striker who supposed to be "world class".

A miss in a game that we won, no different to a host of other chances spurned over the weekend, and....
It warrants a thread on a CHELSEA 'fans' (and i use that term loosely in some cases) forum.
Doesn't Torres have enough people on his back as it is? Despite the fact that his recent stats are pretty good.
Pisspoor thread started by someone who the phrase..  With friends like that, who needs enemies ? fits perfectly.

Personally, I think he's been looking far sharper in the past few weeks - yesterday's howler excepted.

Maybe worth reminding people that the starter of this particular thread isn't actually a Chelsea fan and was just on a wind up.

However more generally this is a Chelsea forum and, for better or worse, should we not accept opinions about Chelsea players from other Chelsea fans irrespective of whether we agree with them or not. Doesn't mean we shouldn't disagree with them and make counter arguments but I don't think people should be criticised for criticising Chelsea players who they believe to be not performing.  It would be dull, and unrealistic, forum if everyone only focused on the positives all the time.

Your constant slating of Torres is starting to bore me.  I find it more concerning that his miss, which wasn't that bad considering he's 6'1" and the ball was about 4 feet in the air (below header height and above volley height), was his ONLY chance of the game.  A chance he had to create himself I might add.  Ronaldo and Messi miss constantly.  Ronaldo especially, but he gets a constant stream of chances.  There is nothing wrong with our best front 3, there is a problem in midfield and defence.

Not for Frank Lampard. He headed that ball that was about a foot off the ground for the goal yesterday.

But his first name isn't Super for nothing.

That wasn't an option for Torres without going head first into the keeper, directly in front of him.

So tired of this crap. Castiel already said it, but what about that chance was so easy anyone could've knocked it in. It was a rushed cross, the keeper was rushing over, and Torres struck it while pivoting on one foot when the ball was about waist high. Are those chances put away every week now? IT WAS NOT THAT EASY OF A CHANCE FFS and I would say that no matter who spurned it.

Loyalty shouldnt for badmouthing (rightly or wrongly) one of our own. But when the tripe begins to sound just like the hordes of media assholes who hate Chelsea you should be called out for sounding like a fool.

Torres was scoring and setting up goals 2-3 games ago. Now apparently he is once again the 50 million pound waste of space. Despite the fact that our attack looked alot sharper when he came on as a sub saturday (Mata/Torres/Studge is CLEARLY our best trio up front). Some people are just unreal.

The same Frank Lampard who missed another deceivingly easy chance against Genk. A game in which we dropped points. Where was the outrage there again?

Its at the start of that clip if you can get through the nauseating karaoke at the beginning. Horrendous. It wasnt a difficulty of technique, just shows a rush of blood at the crucial moment when he shoudlve kept it down.

True. I can agree with that. But if someone says "the earth is shaped like a pear" I won't just disagree with him/her and start a discussion, I will call him/her an effing moron or worse. Because that is what they are.

In the case of Torres I could have accepted massive criticism aimed at him last season when we had just paid a ridiculous amount of money for him (though, as someone pointed out, the price tag is not Torres fault and it should not be blamed on him) and he was to be honest very bad and never scored.
But now he has actually played better in the start of the season and bagged a few goals. Sure, he's missed some as well, but so has most of our players. Look at Lampard recently who missed an open net. I'm not biting his head off because of it.
Besides, Torres has shown some fighting spirit which is nice to see.

Yert that was pretty bad. Have to admit it... But still Torres hasnt performed if late. This season has been 50-50

His form has dipped since the suspension when prior to, he was on fire.

On fire?

He played well at Utd. Scored one missed one.

Played well against Swansea. Scored one saw red.

Two goals at home to Genk. Probably the easiest game we will have this season.

That's hardly on fire. I can think of many players this term to whom the phrase applies (Rooney, Van Persie, Aguero ..) but not Torres.

Not by a long chalk.

Alright, maybe not as on fire as we may see from players elsewhere. But definitely very flammable.

I agree with these two. But against Blackburn he ran harder than I've seen him do... well, ever, actually.

I wasn't saying that frank won't miss a sitter in his life. I was just saying that franks goal was impressive considering how low he went to get his head on the ball.
