Just seen that Kalou has apparently flown back from Dubai to hold talks with Arsenal over a move this month.

If the rumours of him demanding 90k a week are true, then I hope he goes.

He is a super-sub but wants a first team role which is something he won't get.

He will score against us. Would prefer a non-english team.

Someone said somewhere else, if we are to sign a better replacement I don't mind. He's been a good pro for us, but never going to be anything more than a sub.

What is it with us helping out Arsenal?

It's bad enough we for some inexplicable reason decided to loan them Benayoun, now we are planning to sell them Kalou for peanuts?

I really wonder if there's any actual planning involved when it comes to transfer policies in the club.

Or maybe its just complete BS (seeing as though Arsenal, the Ivory Coast national team, Kalou`s agent etc have all said its rubbish) and you are beating the club up for something that hasnt happened yet.

Benayoun loan did happen, though. Do you see any reasonable explanation behind it?

No idea, I presumed at the time that AVB didnt want see a need for him and allowed him to go. He chose to go to Arsenal, maybe he didnt want to go anywhere else. I dont think anyone really knows the story behind that.

With hindsight it would have been better to send Josh out on loan (Swansea was interested in the summer as well) and keep Yossi on the bench.

Who knows, but if we replaced him with a young prospect (that could also come on as sub for a while) why not?

If we lose kalou, and now with nico in China, we're looking a bit light. Hopefully means we will be signing a winger.
Dream - Eden hazard
Likely - Krasic (who imo is very average/selfish)

He's the obvious choice to replace Henry when he goes back to NY.....paaah.

Seriously though, he'll score against us and get some important goals for them. We shouldn't sell our players to rivals!

Agreed.  If he's leaving I'd prefer he goes to another country, not a rival on the other side of the city.

Helping out Arsenal?

You do realise it's Kalou we may be letting them have?

I remember hearing a lot of noise about the Yossi loan being necessary to fulfill the homegrown/club trained youth rule?  I think it was when Mata was coming in?

As for Kalou to Arsenal - I flipping hope not.  Kalou, for all his shortcomings has been a consummate professional for our club - has ridden the bench a lot, has popped in a few important goals, and definitely isn't as crap as some people make him out to be.  If I were the lad, I'd get away as well - there's just nothing he can do to please his detractors.  Sure hope we keep him though.  Try finding a replacement of his position that is professional enough to sit on the bench week after week waiting to get his chance to help out the team that is half as good.

I think the problem with kalou is it is very clear the talent that he has, and as people have mentioned he has scored some great goals and some very important ones for us. Its just infuriating seeing such talent with not the greatest footballing brain. He is 26 years old now and the first team role dosent look like it is going to happen so maybe it is best for all involved to part ways at this juncture on good terms.
When we first signed him i thought he was going to be an absolute world beater and maybe Jose wasnt the best manager for him to develop his attacking ability. It is a shame though as he seems a very popular individual in the dressing room. Really hope he dosent go to arsenal as hate seeing ex blues playing for one of our main london rivals and who knows wenger might just have it in him to focus his mind and get some consistent performances out of him. Would be nice if he went to one of the new super rich clubs like PSG, Anzhi or Malaga

he would be a bench warmer at arsenal aswel...wenger has settled with the gervinho r.v.p walcott attacking trio.Even then henry is back and oxlade chamberlain is fighting for a place also. By the way chamberlain in my opinion already better than walcott he has a big future I  wonder if we were ever interested, unbelievable prospect

Chamberlain is a Chelsea fan & I am still puzzled why we never went after him. IMO a better prospect than Lukaku

They are totally different players but at this stage I would agree - he certainly has a lot more about him with pace to trouble any defence.

I'd pay Arsenal to have him
