Gervinho isn't going to come good. Kalou is quite clearly a better player, although they're cut from a similar enough cloth that I'd understand why he wouldn't be your first choice.

There's talk of Kalou coming to Everton, i don't know much about him, would he be a good signing, bearing in mind we have nothing up front at the moment

You'd be better off with nothing.

He'll look a bit clumsy, misplace passes, run with his head down sometimes, miss a few sitters, but by the end of it all, he'll get you about 10-15 goals. Also, you could probably get him for about a quarter his actual value.

An ex-Chelsea player and manager yesterday stated Kalou is on his way to France to join Lyon. He didn't make it clear whether it would be in this transfer window or the summer.

He should go to a mid table club where he can start without the need to win and score every time.
I actually mind if he stays as he is in a way of Lukaku and other young prospects.
I've always defended him but looks like AVB rates him even lower than our past managers so what is the point..

Arsenal decide not to bid
Salomon Kalou has emerged as a transfer target for Everton, after Arsenal decided against making a bid for the Chelsea striker.

The Ivorian is in the final year of his contract and will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge for a cut-price fee this month.

It was rumoured he had held talks with Arsenal, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said on Friday that the 26-year-old would not be joining the club.
Everton now hope to take advantage of the situation to land Kalou in a bargain deal, reports the Times.
The Toffees have struggled for goals all season and Leon Osman, Leighton Baines and Apostolos Vellios are the club's joint top scorers with just three Premier League strikes each.

I think he will become a much confident and better player at a club like Everton. He will play week in and week out, and not go under scrutiny for every mistake he makes.

Maybe Chelsea could throw him in and offer less cash for Rodwell? It's doubtful but never hurts to inquire about it...

Kalou to Everton would make a lot of sense. And if it means helping them out, in exchange for a first option or concession on a transfer of the future, it could be a great move to help them out in their hour of need.
They seem to thrive off those industrious little psuedo-forwards like Donovan, Cahill, or Drenthe. Kalou would fit well in that mold in that he could go out wide or up the middle.
OSOB: How is stracqualursi doing for you guys this year? He seemed to be a total unknown when he signed, but have there been good signs?

I think the French league will be good for him. He isnt good enough for a top for club in the English league but in France he could be a top player.
