Dennis Wise apparently being lined up as sporting director for #CFC. Make of that what you will...

I would love to have Wisey back at the club in any capacity, though I`m not sure how AVB will feel.

I would also love for it to happen, he is my all time Chelsea hero.

However i dont think it is true at all. I have a feeling that we wont see a sporting director or anything like that brought in while AVB is in charge.

I think this is all coming from a rumour he is to give up his position as VP in the CPO.

Wisey has a bit of a chequered history with this particular role, doesn't he?

I love the guy. Big personality compared to these overpaid professionals. He didn't do always right but he was in it with heart. That is what we don't see too much anymore. Everyone is too professional. That is why I love guys like Essien who have that kind of force in them on the field. Not that Essien ever says anything as Wise did but as footballer they have similarities. Gattuso is probably much closer to Wise's style. Other team supporters hate them but you love them in your team.

Not sure about the sporting director job. Don't even know what a SD does actually but it sounds too "cabinet" for Wise IMO.
