Will miss his free kicks more than anything else, the sense of anticipation as he stepped up to slam one towards the goal was immense!

Good luck to him at PSG, good player who always gave 100% for us. Weighed in with some great goals as well, Liverpool and Arsenal spring to mind.

Measuring up level of performance against minutes on the pitch ,id say hes been our best central defender these past 5 years.
Clearly though he doesnt fit in with AVBs plans, as there are only so many slow defenders you can have!
Best of luck to him.

4 million is a nice piece of business for PSG. Ugly shirts, though.
Good for Alex. PSG have money and amibiton.
Wish Chelsea could have squeezed more money from them, but I suppose they didn't have any leverage.

Was it on the Arsenal free kick that he injured himself and missed a lot of games? Sort of sums up his career at Chelsea, unfortunately.

actually, this is NOT good news at all................yes he had put in a transfer request and yes he (obviously) fell out with AVB but 2 years ago he was top class for 2 seasons...................and everyone in the club loved the bloke
so for me, yes good luck Alex, thanks for your efforts - but you'll be missed

So long sir. You were very much underrated on here, but not at all by me. We'll be worse for letting you go.
Glad to see you and Carlo teaming again. He's not stupid and knew you were a bargain. Good luck.

Where does anyone say it is 'good news'?
He was a great player for us, very underrated in England and sadly, by his national team as well. I feel his best years are behind him unfortunately, not because of declining ability but his injury record is nightmarish.
Probably one of the best pieces of business during the Jose Mourinho era.

All the best Alex & thanks for a lot of stirling performances for us whilst you were here. We've certainly missed your thunderbolts over the last few months. Can only hope you're treated with a bit more dignity at PSG.
