He's supposedly cup tied in the Youth Cup though so wont be able to play against West Ham or in any subsequent matches in that.

Yeah, that Mata is sh*te isn`t he. He needs dropped.

'roll eyes'

Anyway, not much on You Tube (understandably) but he scores a cracker here with his left.  Favours the left but can play with both apparently:

The number 9

Thanks. Pace and skill. A heady combination.  Have to admit I feel bad for Forest, having to sell a promisng youngster for very little money.

Connor Wickham went to Sunderland for 7m and Oxlade-Chamberlain cost Arsenal at least 12m, maybe up to 15.  Obviously Bamford might not develop at the same rate as those two since he will be playing reserve football instead of every day in the Championship, but 1.5m seems like a steal for a highly rated English youngster.

Hope he progresses well and forms a nice partnership with Feruz.

I wouldn't worry. We'll probably sell him back for half the price in three years.

Can't really put Chamberlain into the same category as Wickham (whoever actually rated this guy must have been the same ones who thought Carroll would be any good at a Top 4 team) and Bamford. Chamberlain is on another level and was worth every penny, looking back on the deal I'm sure many will feel like it was actually a bargain once he's played more. Guy was already Arsenal's best winger without even having to play a game and now he's been their best player in recent games.

I get what you're saying and AOC has certainly impressed so far, but man, 15m for a kid coming from League One sounds like a lot.  He's obviously showing that he's likely to be worth that price tag, but can you imagine AVB making a purchase like that when everyone is annoyed with him, much like most Arsenal fans seem to be with Wenger's transfers?  He did have a lot of hype to him though, pretty similar to us buying a kid from the Belgian League for 18m.

Anyways, I posted in here to say that Bamford score two the other day in his debut for the reserves.  Wish he could play in the Youth Cup!

When he's bored of winning nothing and his contract runs out he can join his boyhood favourites. Just imagine the reaction of the Arse fans, their club would have basically paid a small fortune just to develop him for Chelsea. Bang :)
