Didier Drogba... I don't know of a player that makes me scream for joy or drives me to rage like our Didier.

Incredible talent, and one of the best of this generation. I fully believe it. He's had some games where he's carried the lads on his shoulders. He's also one that makes me want to toss something at my TV when he's just "not in the mood" to give it his all.

The man has done boatloads for this club. Add him to our CFC legends, absolutely.

Add to the fact that his entertainment value, good or bad, is usually pretty high.

Simply the best striker in it's most successful era,  and IMHO a top 5 all time Chelsea hitman. I will never forget my youngest daughter's birthday, Sept 17th 2006  at home against the Dippers, brought the ball down spun and launched an Exocet past that mug Reina....genius

What a goal that was. Just something else. Arguably his best goal for the club, and I'd say one of the finest I've ever seen scored by any Chelsea player.

The best thing about it is that he repeated the feat against Barcelona weeks later, just for sh*ts and giggles.

His best goal, for mine, was that 35 yard half volley against Everton. That was incredible.

When he signed in 2004, Lampard said "he can be our Henry". Most laughed at his barging, clumsy style and niggling injuries made 24 million look like a big waste. How they were wrong!

Here is a video I took in the Emirates in our double winning season. A delicious Drogba free kick.

I just had a feeling from the angle and distance that Drog would put it away. This is the probably the one and only video I have taken at a Blues game!

Not to mention that the goal against Liverpool was with his left foot and the one against Barca with his right.

(Were you watching Ashley Cole?  Obviously not!)

These messages sound like RIP messages.

He's one of the reasons supporting chelsea isn't boring.
One minute I love him, one minute I hate him.
Although he can be selfish and dramatic and annoying. I cannot deny what he has done for this club.

As much as I don't want him to leave, he has to. He can't stay forever, and it will be a sad moment when he does go.

I noticed that this thread has gone extremely quiet since the return of the prodigal son.  He is finding out very quickly that he and any other striker aint going to get a lick of service from anyone.  Thought he was sh*te last night, hardly got in the game and rarely saw him running back making tackles like Torres has been or getting involved in link up play.  Why AVB gave him the 'C' armband ?....probably to keep him quiet and to appease the other poison apples.  He probably get the start against Bolton, wont score but it will still be Torres's fault.  As soon as he and the other posion apples are gone the better off this club will be, he has only one interest...himself.  He is not part of the future, he's given great service in his day but he's been paid a lot of cash for his services, get over it, move on.

cannot be sentimental with players, once they dont serve a purpose then sell them, we need younger hungrier players who will also cost at least half in wages.
Drogba has won us games and titles, but we all know what hes been like at times, he can be extremely selfish and stupid, like the red card in CL final, at the end of the season he should get a big and heartfelt thank you and we should let him go.

Let's be honest for a moment, even Messi or Ronaldo would struggle to score many in our team at the moment.

Yep.  The Torres-bashers don't want to hear that, but as a lot of us keep saying, the lack of goals isn't SOLELY the fault of Torres.  Our midfield and wings -- outside of Mata -- have no idea how to break down a defense and/or get the ball to the striker's feet in a scoring position.

It's why, at this point, I think a formation change has to be made.  Go back to the 4-3-3 next season if/when AVB has cleaned house and brought in more of the types of players we'd need to run his system.  In the meantime, work with what you've got as well as you can, and try to find something that allows us to limp into 4th place.

lets go for a defensive formation then seeing that the goals are not coming, but when our biggest goal threat each game is sturridge then maybe he should be playing up front with Mata off his shoulder and 4 compact strong midfielders behind them, lets stop conceding goals and start defending as a unit then lets start worrying about playing attractive football, less than 5 years ago we could go 1-0 up within 5 minutes and we would have enough confidence to see it through the 90. now at 3-0 up we sh*t ourselves

Oh I'd be careful CFCCAN.

Drogba thrives on these sorts of posts. He reads them all you know. Writes them all down in a little black book entitled "Drogba Haters" and then finds out where you live. Next thing you know........ bang. He plays a blinder and scores. Next day you receive you an anonymous card in the post addressed to "Dear Muppet" with your photo on the front.

A lot of people got one of these cards after the Valencia game.
