Moussa Dembele

That's true but if our club wants him they must see something in him, Celtic has been a decent club to buy from in recent times. From what I have seen he is a good player, I know we have 5 scouts for Scotland and the North because my friend was training to scout for us with the main guy I forget his name, so these guys are well watched, they will have the scouts notes, we have a computer system at Cobham, with all players we have scouted plus the scouts notes, so the manager always has a good but of info on players.

I'm not really critical of the player as he might be great. I just find it hard to judge players because of the league itself is absolutely awful. Anyone can win the league as Celtic manager and I just see it as embarrasing when someone like Sinclair goes to Scotland and does really well. That shows me the standard of that league.

I would be surprised if Celtic let him go this window but money talks and Celtic are not really playing for anything domestically anymore.

If the money is right they will sell, they win the league by default, but again as poor as the league is players like VVD and Wanyama have come to the PL and done very well.

Also forgot to mention he is a product of the PSG youth academy, spent 8 years there, and has been capped at youth level for France 30 times, won French youth player of teh year 2016,  definitely got more going for him than playing for celtic and remember he is only 20, tottenham wanted him last year btw.

I saw Wanyama playing in the SPL and thought what a good player, he will probably do well in the premier league. Some guys just stand out. What's his name Valencia was a stand out before he went to manu. Somethings seem obvious but just don't happen.

Mousse dembele could be just the go but we've left it very late.

Dembele isn't even Celtics best player, that's Scott Sinclair who we all know failed in the EPL.
Absolute madness, he's not even the top goalscorer in the Mickley mouse SPFL.
As someone who watches Scottish football this would be a ludicrous deal

Actually celtics best player is Tom Rogic but never mind that. :-)

Australia's biggest talent ATM. Would like to see him in a better league (Celtic is a decent club).

I like Aaron Mooy and Matt Ryan but the former is playing in the Championship while the latter is stuck on an underperforming Valencia's bench. Might have moved from Club Brugge too soon.

Sounds really wierd to me. Clearly something in it when both Matt Law and SSN are reporting on it but i don't think he's any better then Michy who is hardly playing himself.

Put Michy in the sh*tty SPFL and he'd score far more than Dembele has been.

We are going to be paying 30 odd million for someone who's not as good as our current back up striker. Bizarre

To be fair if you see a player totally dominating a game especially against a top opponent you can say he has tons of potential. He can become an Oscar or a Hazard. It is always a risk.

Has he done that yet? I know he scored a few in the CL but still.

Ross McCormack scored against inter milan

Tony Watt scored against Barcelona

The list goes on.

Again thing is he isn't even Celtic's best attacking player, Sinclair is miles ahead of him at the minute.

Short answer, I dont want him at all.

Abraham is younger and as talented and in Dembeles 40 odd Championship games last year he got 15 goals, Abraham already has 15 goals for a terrible Bristol side.

Makes no sense that the club would piss away 40m on Dembele, its madness.

Fully agree regarding Abraham. He is banging in goals in a very poor championship side. I am more impressed by the season he is having than Dembele.

Players like Batman and Abraham must be thinking what's the point.

when we have abraham it doesn't really make sense, especially considering the championship is on par with the scottish league give or take. might be being harsh there, but really don't think the scottish league is that great and the top two would probably be mid table in premier league at best. only way i could see this working out is if conte plans to play dembele in a different forward position. i don't know much about the lad though, so he could end up quality.

It's worse than that. Scottish football is absolutely brutal...trust me

So is it common for Glasgow based athaletes to come to London for a scan? No MRI machines north of the wall ?

He's going to a specialist, most players from Celtic and Rangers head down south due to the best ones being here.

Glasgow is actually very good for orthopaedics but yes sometimes players will go to a specialist clinic in London

    • You may be right about that Mod. It was the Batshuayi comparison that felt bizarre. Good to see you posting.

    • That's the thing though Davey, it's easy to forget about the player once they've moved on (or it went sour with the club) in which, I think most are doing with Costa. How many games did Costa step up when we needed him, and win the game like Morata vs Utd. I'm not taking shots at Morata, I like him and hope he becomes a striker that is up there every season for us, but for me, at the moment, he isn't as reliable or confident in front of goal as Costa was for us, not by some stretch. Yes I saw the same yesterday in the champions league
    •   Bizarre. Costa started like a house on fire for us but I wonder if he had as many goals for us after as many games, remembering that Morata has missed a few with injury. Morata's been brilliant and I just can't understand your comparison with Batshuayi, who has no idea how to play up front on his own, although he will score goals. Batshuayi is just a very limited footballer and it's clear Conte doesn't trust him.   Morata is better in the air than Costa, by far, he's faster, his link-up play is better, he's more skilful, and he'll get more goals. He'll easily surpass Costa's 20 if he stays fit, because although he misses chances, he also puts them away, and crucially the chances keep coming his way, because his movement and positioning is so good. All strikers miss chances. Morata is scoring crucial goals, big goals in big games, winners, opening goals. Costa invariably went missing in big games. Lest we forget, in both our title winning seasons of late, Costa faded badly in the latter half, when the pressure was on. It was Hazard that drove us over the line on both occasions.   Given the choice, I don't see too many people taking Costa over Morata right now, and as for Batshuayi, he's at least one tier below them two in my opinion. I'm not saying there aren't better than Morata out there, but I don't think we could have done much better, given the options. He's been as good as any of us could have expected, and his goal against Utd was simply a great header. When we needed him he produced. He was absolutely brilliant that day.   He gets injured and we're relying on Batshuayi our season takes a very different course in my opinion.
    • Your right. After Argentina 78 World Cup. My mum worked in a sports shop and the real thing was 60£! Mitre Multiplex 2.5 was around 25-30£ I found one in a tree at the Bank of England sports club which was near Barnes I think in 1980. Fantastic ball, lasted for ages and all my mates loved using it. Heavier than lesser priced balls but helped build your leg power for long passing and shooting.
