And so the International break strikes again - even by the players who aren't away!!
{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif Ignore it, we don't know in what context they were said.
Interviewer: Would you rather me kill your first born, or play for Barcelona?
Petr: In the case of Barcelona showing interest, yes, certainly it would be worth considering.
I wouldn't put anything pass these journo's.

If anyone tried to galvanise the team when Jose left it was Petr over and above Jt and Lamps.
As Gem said classic Journo stuff.

Might be untrue and it might be true. Honestly, I don't really like Barcelona but let's face it it's a big team that plays some entertaining football. I think most players wouldn't mind playing for them and that includes Cech.
And it's not like he's saying "I really don't like Chelsea and would rather move to Barcelona". He admits that playing for Barca one day would be nice but he and his family likes it where they are at the moment.
The bloke is young, really young for a keeper. He might stay 10 years with Chelsea and still get to play for Barcelona.

I thought his wife said she liked shopping in Barcelona

Of course he's going to say he'd be interested in playing for Barca, who wouldn't!?! Honestly you'd be a fool to say never, who knows what the future will bring. Also I'm afraid it's always going to be the same, Chelsea for all Peter Kenyon's bluster about global dominance etc. are still not seen as a "big" club, be it by fans or players.

Cech moving to Barca was also mentioned on the Chelsea channel last night.
Also......... Jose managing him there.
Lamp's has been rumoured with a move to Barca for the past couple seasons.
My biggest fear is Jose taking over with Cech and Lamps joining him, with a part exchange deal envolving Drogba and Ronaldinho. {SMILIES_PATH}/346.gif
Chelsea sack Jose because they want to 'entertain' and Jose takes over the supposed most entertaining side in the world, you gotta admit........it's got Chelsea written all over it!
(for the benefit of Abramovich this post is made up of rumour/rumour/opinion and rumour - not in any shape or form an insdie story! {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif )

How much did Juve pay for Buffon again? For Barca it would have to be substantially more than that as Cech is even younger. Then again, this story is a load of BS so it dosent matter anyway

An absolute non story. Which is why i never bother wasting my time with Sky these days. Only the beeb who report accurately, and fairly honestly.
Having said that, if we were to sell him (which i doubt would ever happen), how much would we get? £50m? We are talking about the best keeper on the planet?!

Richest club on the planet selling best keeper on the planet to replace him with one not as good. We don't need the money, don't sell. But if he wanted to go what should we do? force him to stay and have an unhappy player or let him go a take the money?

I think the timing of this story is the most funny part about it. We have just brought in a new goalkeeping coach, on a large part based on Cech's recommendation. So I don't think he would choose this moment to start feeling unhappy, would you?

Gotta love Petr!!! On the same day he feels like he has to put the record straight. Players and clubs take note, that's how you show you care what the supporters think! I don't know why but I just had a strange feeling we would be hearing a denial from him very quickly, he seems a very honest, HONOURABLE kind of guy, the opposite of these sc*m f**king british press.

For those of you who can't be bothered to click on the link, this is the statement Petr released:
'There are a few stories that have appeared today in the press quoting me that I was interested in a move to Barcelona. These were taken from an interview I gave back in 2003 when I was at Rennes.
'I am very happy at Chelsea and this is where I see my future.'
2000 and flippin 3. FOUR (nearly 5) years ago. Absolute joke.
Heather Mills is one crazy lady, but her rants about the press (and more to the point - The Sun) were spot on.
