With things not going well at the moment in Catalania, maybe it's a good timing to bring the old favorite back?

I'd unload Pizza in a heartbeat and replace him with Guddy. Would help find our missing link between midfield and attack, too. I imagine someone like Sheva would suddenly start looking useful.

He went to Barca hoping to get more playing time but he seems to be featuring even less.

Come on Roman, get the wallet out, it shouldn't cost much.

I would definitely love to see him back in blue, and I think, for the languishing he seems to be doing in spain, Guddy could be had for probably half what he was sold for. And, quite honestly, I think his fondest days are from his time with Chelsea, so I doubt he wouldnt jump at the opportunity

then it would be "The Iceman Returneth" on the back pages of the tabloids.

I don't think it would be good. I was a massive fan of Eidur and for me he has a better footballing brain than any player in our current squad bar Ballack however whatw e lack all over tha prk right now (other than at left back) is pace and that is not something Eidur was blessed with. A very quick mind, and very quick feet but not quick on the break. Just ow we break and counter in neutral and that has to change.

I said the same thing in another thread. I'd love Guddy back as our number 3 striker. A very clever player, and a terrific link between attack and midfield. Plus, he's Chelsea through and through, and Grant buying him would be the ideal way to get the fans on-side. At least until the next match when Grant plays 8 attackers and 1 defender and we let in 14 goals... icon_rolleyes.gif

He has been one of my favourite players in recent memory for the blues, but I wonder if he would even come back? He looked dismayed that he knew he was leaving, so I wonder if, for Eidur, it's a case of...thanks for the memories! He may leave Barca, but I don't think he would come back to us

I woud love to see him back. He is 'one of us'.

It has been said that Pizzaro is 'Eidur-like'...only if he had his legs chopped off says I.

Pizzaro has the speed and mobility of Douglas Baader!

I prefer Guddy over Pizarro anyday, but many people don't see the good of Pizarros style. He isn't that slow. He is not the the kind of player that runs fast with the ball, he prefers to look first and pass then, just like Essien and Mikel. He isn't like SWP or Bridge who never watch where they are passing the ball after a speedy run. I just hate it when they think their work is done after they have passed a defender just to kick the ball to the stands. Such a waste!

Ok, Pizza haven't scored since that Bham game which should be his number one job, but I like his style anyway. Guddy only performed when he was on the mood not to compare a chelsea legend with Pizza too much..

First of all, Jim, nice work on the Douglas Bader reference. As a historian, I like it

I agreed with your first point, about Pizza being underappreciated and playing a different style to most strikers. But as for Guddy only performing when he was in the mood 300.gif

Guddy played with passion for the shirt, in my opinion, and you could tell he loved the club by the way he celebrated and interacted with the team.

I love Guddy, but I think we need to be realistic here. He did often carry too much weight around and was inconsistant at times.

I'm not suggesting we shouldn't look to bring him back to the club as I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him in a blue shirt again. But we are being silly if we think he will be the best player on our team and is likely to knock Drogba out of the starting lineup.
