I will single a recent favorite and cast my vote with Guddy as well.
Fickle as it may be, the most telling moment came not after a goal celebration or a press conference (though those showed his emotion too) but during Chelsea's Crossbar Challenge on Football AM
Of all the players that stepped up to take a whack at it, Guddy came up, stated his name, and with bravado added "striker for the mighty blues". Somehow that one action spoke volumes to me about his loyalty to the club. Even after he did slice the ball wide....
Which players 'love/loved' the club

Le Saux came back, so must love us.
Kerry Dixon, it was Dixon that dragged us through the 80's, a true blue, he worships Chelsea.
Nigel Spackman.

One of our biggest critics maybe.
But i grew up with him in the team he was a loyal player.

Eidur's loyalty could never be brought into question. I know that Barcelona as a proposition is attractive enough, but he did reject a move to Spurs on personal grounds. What a bloke. And one i would love to have back with us now.
Dennis Wise is a name i would mention. Sure he was part of the Crazy gang, but i'm certain he would class himself as a Chelsea boy.
Did'nt Sparky support us as a boy? Having said that, JT supported United...

It's hard to compare players of the past as the wages were different and the game was more about the fans so it was easier to build a real relationship with the club, so I'll only look at the more recent players;
Dixon (kind of bridges the cap between the then and now), there's no doubt he loves the club, as a manager of a non-league side he missed a game to watch a Chelsea cup tie!
Wise - no doubt for me, not Chelsea born and bred but would do anything for the club, moving to leeds just proves that he's a professional.
Petrescu - was told that he wouldn't be a first team regular any more, his contract was up and he took a reduction just to stay here!!!
JT - As a pro I wouldn't expect (or really want him to stay) if things went really badly wrong for us and we ended up in the 2nd div, but he does love the club.
2 that I'm unsure of are;
Frank - he wants a huge contract till he's 35 or 36, well at the moment he's worthy of being one of the most highly paid players but would he take a contract where the salary was reviewed ever 2 years based on influence???
Poyet - there is no doubt that he his time at Chelsea was his happiest, he moved to the scum because it was the best move for his career (fair enough), he's gone back there for the same reason (again fair enough) but the longer he spends there more feeling he will have for them!

Just thinking out loud really after reading the posts about Frank saying he wants to stay for life. Wicksy makes the fairly standard (but nonetheless relevant - I don't mean that as an insult Wicksy) point that it is lucre that Frank loves and not Chelsea.
He may well be right or maybe Frank really does have a deep felt affection for the club (as well as a desire to get even richer).

Only just spotted this Loz. No offence taken by the way.
I think all the obvious ones have been mentioned, but sadly it is mostly players from the 80's and earlier who are mentioned with most affection. Obviously King Kerry loves the club, as does Tommy Langley, but Eidur, Zola, Petrescu all spring to mind to name but a few.
My cynicism towards Frank may possibly be misplaced, but I would just ask one question. If he loves the club as much as he claims, then why did he not sign the very generous contract (I believe it was £120 k + per week) that was offered some time ago? He's been stalling for over a year now and I for one find that very suspicious Of course he's gonna come out and say he loves the club, what player wouldn't unless he wants to turn all his fans against him.
If we fans really believe that he loves the club so much then we are probably deluded suckers! (It has nothing to do with what he's done for Chelsea Gem, that I'm not questioning) Sorry if I offend anyone but the modern footballer just isn't as loyal anymore.
Even JT stalled on signing a new contract a few years ago, which resulted in him being courted by Arsenal. It was only a much improved contract offer that finally persuaded him to sign on the dotted and we fans conveniently forget about that and consider him as true blue, loyal blah blah blah...
I love them both as footballers and for what they've done for Chelsea but that's as far as it goes.
King Kerry, Johnny B, Wisey Chopper, Ossie etc.... now that's what I call "loved the club"

Thinking outside the box here for a sec, Jamie Redknapp seems to have a massive soft spot for Chelsea, closet Chelsea fan for sure I'd say ;p

Paul McGrath is a Chelsea fan and always sticks up for us on Irish radio.
If only he could have played for us. I guarantee he would have become one of your favourite players of all time.

What was the story with Hitchock, he always seemed like he was better than the number 1s. Obviously I was in Australia at the time, so I am only going off 10min packages that I saw. But everytime he came in he seemed to be better than the current first choice.

He was a great buy for us and served us loyally - just like Carlo. Anyone remember him saving a pen at home v Liverpool in one of his first games? It earned us a draw and but we still went down via the playoffs that year.
