Sheva - nuff said

I think a lot of us aren't voting for Sheva, because we didn't have any expectations that he'd be above mediocre this season anyway!  Same with Sidwell.  Did anyone really expect him to be anything more than average? Whereas with Lamps, Essien, Cech, we naturally expected them to be excellent.

I didnt have any expectations of Sheva for this season either and Im still disappointed, but only when hes on the pitch!

I would have to say Anelka.  Yeah he hit the bar against Spuds but other than that what has he given us?  nothing...

I nominate a sub section of the fans - when times turned sour the players kept their heads down and got on with the job irrespective of their personal feelings, some fans couldn't claim the same.

Fans do it for their hobby or love and passion of the club, not £130k per week! We're not employed, it's not our job, it's our past-time!

It's not nice watching a club you've supported financial and vocally all your life, become the chairmans ego trip or plaything. It's not a power trip for the supporters, we only want what's best for the club.

BTW I understand where your coming from, I also don't agree with booing at games.

nice one...... but I think Piza boy and Sidwell make the cut. Lamps was getting there for me but picked up lately. I also think Brian's call on Cech was a bit harsh. A few boobies, bad ones, but he ain't perfect...yet.

Although not the most  (which I guess is the point of this thread) I have been somewhat disappointed with JT.  Now before everyone goes mad, I feel that he has simply not been the same player since he was made captain of England.  I hope that this is largely down to him carrying so many injuries and being rushed back too soon and pary to God that it isn't a matter of things going to his head.

Obviously Piz, Sidwell, Ben Haim, etc. have all been pretty awful but (like Brian before me) I had no expectations so can't be disappointed so...

Malouda it is.  Although, like others, he has struggled for fitness.

I wonder how people's opinion will change come the end of the season?

I can't beleive some people consider Drogba our most disappointing player............

His been arguably our best player when his been on the park and dispite his mouthing off with the press his workrate has never dropped.

You have to have a very very short term memory if your allready forgetting how good Drogba has been on the park so far this season.

Absolutely agree 100%. He's one of the very few who has maintained a high level IMO. I can't believe anybody would believe he's been disappointing  {SMILIES_PATH}/actions1.gif

Players whose form has dipped since last season: JT, Essien, Cech (still top class but has made a couple of mistakes)

Recent arrivals: Nearly all of them - Pizza, Ben Haim, Malouda, and above all poor all Sidwell (looks totally out of his depth)

Sheva hasn't disappointed. He's exceeded my expectations. I expected he'd be cr*p, he's actually been slightly better than that!!

Malouda himself has had plenty of opportunities to show himself up as an overpriced, overrated, waste of space diving moaning French git. And to give credit where credit is due, he has grasped every single one of those opportunities.

I think people have been harsh on sheva...he has seven goals this season two below lamps and drogba I think and played about the same amount of games...just like last season he got injured just as he was starting to find confidence and some form...which is just his luck...besides after last season the expectations on sheva were lower for this so to hail him as most disappointing I don't think is fair anyway.
for me it would be a toss up between malouda and pizarro...i'm not actually sure what malouda's talent is...he doesn't beat a player with pace or skill, he can pass it okay but he doesn't look a £13.5m player to me...I accept pizarro was a free but so was bogarde! He is on £50,000-a-week and looks completely sh*te.

As a lot of others have said I think you have to base the level of disappointment on the expectations that you have.  On those grounds I am not in the slightest bit disappointed in the likes of Sidwell and Pizarro as I expected very little from them.

In all honesty I am not that disappointed in any of the players.  It has been a tumultuous time at the Bridge and that, combined with the ridiculous run of injuries we have had, means that sitting just a few points off the pace is a remarkable achievement.  If I absolutely had to pick one player who I had hoped for more from it is Malouda but even then  I was never convinced he was a great signing in the first place and also I think he needs to be given a lot longer before we start making judgements on him.
