Hopefully Big Pete can concentrate on tonight's game...if he's playing, that is. Couldn't really blame him if his mind wandered a bit, though. Carlo to start perhaps? {SMILIES_PATH}/300.gif

Congratulations to him, but I have got a theory that once a player has a baby their form tends to dip, look at Lamps for example, he hasn't been the same since.
Please note that one of my other theories is that left footers miss more penalties than right footers (this is especially true in shoot-outs).

He was huge for us today, most certainly MOTM so I don't think it has affected him as much as some other players.

We'll see about that once the baby starts keeping Pete awake at night. {SMILIES_PATH}/300.gif

Congrats to Big Pete one of my favorite players and a wonderful man on top of it.
He prevents others from scoring on the pitch but off it he seems to score pretty well {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif

At the end of the game today, big Pete was shaking his fists with Happiness, and almost shouting at the ground! I know that sounds strange when written, but he was pretty "pumped!"
Didn't Lampard's form start to dip about the same time as his kid was born? I hope the same is not true for Pete. Anyway, congrats to him on the new addition to his family!

Congrats to Petr and Martina. Apparently young Adela Cechova measured 3'4" at birth {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif

I was wondering whether his recent uncharacteristically nervous performances could be accounted for by his mind (quite understandably) being elsewhere while awaiting the birth of his child? Which seems more likely to me, especially when you compare his performance in last night's game to that against Villa and the Arse, for instance.

The goalkeeper played the game after just three hours of sleep because he had spent the early hours of the morning on the phone to his wife following the birth of his first child.
