I'd like to commend Mr Anelka for his attitude last night, everytime he was called offside, he didnt moan or curse the linesman or ref, when tackled he didnt dive or plead for free kicks and bookings to be issued.
I know his history is a bit turbulent, but he seems most settled.
So far Anelka has played 2 full games and been a sub. I know he hasnt scored yet, but he has hit the woodwork 3 times, with a bit of luck he could have scored all 3 !
He looks so comfortable and solid with the ball, doesnt lose it too much either.
Fair play great start long may it continue ! {SMILIES_PATH}/clap2.gif

It's been pretty good so far. Hopefully he can start scoring soon. {SMILIES_PATH}/happy0034.gif

what impressed me the most was about the 80th minute he raced back to take the ball of an everton player just outside our box. so much for a bad attitutde. now all he needs is a goal. then hopefully he`ll score many, many more.

The suspect temperament to which the gutter press still refers now seems to be based on comments such as this from Robbie Fowler “a selfish bar steward...I tried to get a conversation going with him, but he just grunted at me, turned on his heels and walked away." This just shows a young man with great discernment.
I think what we are seeing is a world class striker who having got married and found faith in Islam is now finally at piece with himself and with those around him; this is echoed in his attitude on the pitch (and during the past two years with Bolton) as pointed out on this thread.
The Drog could certainly learn a thing or two from Nicolas.

His good attitude really has impressed me as well. He will find the net soon enough. My guess is next game. I just hope he doesn't change his attitude if he starts scoring loads of goals...Though I woudn't mind if he'd score loads of goals...

The goals will come for him. I've been very impressed with his attitude so far, he seems to have shrugged off the 'Le Sulk' title that he was labelled with earlier in his career.

i was really impressed by that as well, and the commentators on Sky noted it and seemed duly impressed.

Personally, I am way more than impressed. I am drooling every time he gets on the ball. For people that like technically gifted footballers, (and I do), the fella has everything you could ever want.
Left foot, right foot, on his chest, on his knee, doesn't matter to Nicky boy. The ball is his slave the second he touches it. Pace, movement, strength, intelligent passing. Defenders panic when they see him bearing down on them. A Drogba/Anelka partnership has the potential to be devastating. The very best in the world.

Now if we could only add Berbatov before the end of the transfer window...

I've been really impressed so far, but am conscious that it's still early days. My hope though is that he realises that now he's 28 if he doesn't do the business now he will never get another chance at a top club, and I've got to say that both on and off the pitch that's the impression he's given.

I wonder why Joey looks like he's REALLY drunk in that picture. {SMILIES_PATH}/300.gif
Judging by the expression on his face, he's reached the stage of drunkness when you're just being loud, annoying and your speech consists purely of vowels. {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif

Saturdays game summed it all up for me, Anelka is going to scare the sh*t out of defences, just like Drogba. He is at a club now where he should've been for sometime.
