He is having a stinker although to be fair he has been their best play up till this game (mind you they have been awful up till this game)

I worry about you sometimes Loz  {SMILIES_PATH}/300.gif

Was he really awful?  I'd have said he did OK, not great but not bad.  Until Ghana went down to 10 men I'd have said Essien was much quieter.  He scored a great header but otherwise didn't seem to have much drive or much involvement in the game.  For the last 30 minutes though he was immense playing both holding midfield and centre half at the same time.

I'm quite happy to have Mikel back.  If Ghana had lost I think Essien may well have been rather down and probably not much use to us next week anyway.

Well I only saw it on a stream, maybe you have the benefit of seeing it on a decent TV and saw it better but it looked to me like he was having  a very poor game at the point that I posted that .  I thought Essien was quiet as well until the sending of when he appeared to react to the possibility of a surprise knock out and came on to a much better game.

So Mikel then. i'll give you 3 to 1 this time next week we are talking about a red card for a rash tackle on alonso or somebody!

Or, 'Mikel has not turned up in England as arranged and seems to have gone missing in Africa...'

Some players always go missing, or 'miss their flight' after the ACN.

Didn't Babayaro go missing for a couple of months after one of the previous ACN's?
