I hope he is coaching and is held in high enough regard to be offered a caoching contract when his playing role finishes. One thing though that I find interest is comments like "he was only expected to play in the big games...."
How does that work, you pick a team that wins week in and week out and get's you to various cup finals, then when you play manu and arse or in cup finals you drop the players that got you there in favour of someone who (and this is a general comment rather than one aimed at Maka) used to be the best player in that position but hasn't played a competitive game for XXXXX months???

I don't think they're going to leave him out of the team for prolonged periods or anything silly like that, just there's no point in playing him unless we have to, makes sense imo.
I think this is great news though, who better to teach the Makalele role than the man himself!? :-) I also wonder if he'd like to get someone in to be a sort of understudy at some point, or whether he thinks that Mikel/Essien/Sidwell can fit nicely into his position and style of play.

Mikel coached by Maka. That sounds like a perfect match {SMILIES_PATH}/woohoo.gif
