a hard one for me.....

JMs time hear has brought 2 titles and a cup and no one can doubt that we are now the best English team....

his time has brought in great players...I for one never imagined we could have players like Sheva wearing our Blue unless they were well past their best.

some great players have gone and that includes Gallas Mutu Parker Tiago

Eidur Duff all players whos replacements may not be necessarily any better players and with the exception of Mutu I cant understand why they were sold.....ok we have got rid of a few whos future at this club was not looking good...Baba Glen Manich Jarosik Smertin etc

what I dont like is the feeling I get that Jose will never admit to be wrong

like in the Bridge case...we never needded DelHorno and Gallas is not a better left back than Wayne...

I find it hard to like Jose unyet I would find it hard to think of a better manager.........

my picture of him cheers me up as when he really looks like he is happy with the team it makes me think chelsea is more than just money to him

more than just reputation building, but I always have doubts...fickle I think is the word.

My thoughts are he will be with us for another season or two and then if all has gone ok be off to coach the Portugese national side and who could blame him...

I just hope another couple of Titles and a CL trophy are in our cabinet by then and we find an able replacement...Gullit again anyone?

I've voted no as I cannot think of another manager in his league at present.

BUT, at times I don't like him and his transfer comings and goings up to now have been piss poor as has his handling of some of the players which comes across as very childish at times.

He's a bloody good and successfull coach but far from "the Special One" in my book.

NO - we should make the most of Jose while he is still here...no-one is perfect and Jose has made mistakes, but he has taken us to two championships and has fought Chelsea's corner against the rest of the prem, uefa, european clubs and the media...we will miss him when he's gone and like some of you I don't think that day is too far off

Someone in a previous thread said Gallas and Terry were statistically on of the best defensive partnerships in the history of world football, to which I laugh.

Gallas and Terry had a fantastic record together under...........wait for it, Jose Mourinho. They were the central defensive pairing for years under Ranieri and in that time we never saw anything like what we did from them under Mourinho. It's Mourinho's defensive organisation which made it all work.

Qaz,

It was also Mourinho that broke the pair up in that position together, and choose to put Riccy in the middle for Gallas..

but I do see where you're coming from.

It was Mourinho that turned them into a world class pair in the first place. He only broke what he created. Under Ranieri neither were a shade of what they are now.

That's incorrect, as under Raneiri, we had Desailly who played just about every game. So JT and Gallas did not play that often together.

Not in Ranieri's last season they didn't. Also keep in mind, it was Ranieri who brought Terry into the first team after Vialli wanted to reject him in favour of a new signing.

Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere...or if it is complete rubbish, but I thought I would post it here. With the proper article etiquette of course, loz :)

I'd rather see Kenyon and RA go before JM.

Kenyon because he's dragged our brand down into the gutter as discussed on lots of other threads elsewhere.

RA because people use him and his dosh as an excuse to not give JM the credit he deserves. We can all name club after club that have thrown heaps of cash at the market, but few of them have had a manager who could bring it all together. Only Red Nose has ever managed it with any success.

If JM were hit by a bus tomorrow, he would still be judged ultimately by what he did at Porto, not CFC. The ignoranuses out there still believe we have a team that picks itself, motivates itself and selects its own strategy because we've got loads of dosh.

I dream of RA getting bored with us and leaving us solvent and in credit. The wage structure would be cut and the Gallas' of this world would leave us but what would be left? The best manager in the world and players who - above all - wanted to play for him and to win for him.

Now that would be exciting.

Having said all that, he is a petulant whingeing git who should either 'not do media' or take some lessons from Vialli on charm and quick!
