CHELSEA youngster Jack Cork has been handed the England Under-19s captaincy.
First-choice skipper Ciaran Clark, who plays for Aston Villa, has been ruled out of the upcoming UEFA U-19 Championships in the Czech Republic.
So 19-year-old Cork, who spent last season on loan at Sc**thorpe, has taken over the role.
England U-19 coach Brian Eastick has tipped the right-back to shine.
He said: "He's already got a lot of experience.
"I know Sc**thorpe didn't do too well in the Championship last season but his performances were very, very good.
"His time there would have benefited him greatly.
"We have seen him mature as a player and a man over the last few years and he has earned his chance."
