Im sure he could play a game but i wouldnt want to rush him and put him at any risk.
I understand what your saying, Hutch`s welfare and well being must come first. But I think it would be great to see him get a few minutes at the end of a game at the moment. Imagine the lift it would give the whole club, the fans, the players etc.

Oh yeah it would be great to see him given some game time. Maybe if we get an easy FA cup draw he will be given some time.

Glad to see him back! Considering that he's been studying some coaching as well, I can't help thinking of him as a future manager someday. What could be more exciting than a former Chelsea player who's a product of the club's academy as the first team manager? I'm kinda liking the idea.

Hopefully he'll be able to reach his full potential, if not at Chelsea, then at some other club. Stamford Bridge will always be his home, anyway.

Always liked the way he came accross a a person as well, did a few bits on Chelsea tv after he was forced to retire and seemed like a good bloke. Really happy for him first and foremost but if he could make a full recovery and challenge for right back then that would be double good news!

RT @Hogarth85: Just watched blues news headlines. Sam Hutchinson has been named in Chelseas Prem League squad for the rest of the season.

Great stuff!

Not that Hutch, the other Hutch. Just seen on twitter someone posted that on Blues News on CTV they said Sam Hutchinson has been added to the first team squad for the rest of the season. Brilliant news if true, can anyone confirm?

Great news! I reckon he has a great chance of getting some playing time for the first team this season if he can stay free of injuries. Would be great to see him get a runout at the Bridge as a sub towards the end of a game. I reckon he would get an amazing reception.

Its bloody great news isnt it, seeing him come on the pitch in a first team game will be a lovely thing to see and give the whole club a lift. Dont mean to do the mods jobs, but should this thread now be promoted to the General section?

Hopefully he might get a little run out in the FA Cup at some point this season.

A homegrown option at right back? It'd be great to see.
Agreed, and without knowing anything about the injuries both players have - Ledley King doesn't play all the games at Tottenham because of his injury, perhaps it could be the same for Sam? Obviously what type of injury it is, how the player recovers etc is all individual, but if we could get him playing 15 games a season to start off with next season (Prem alone) then that would be fantastic.

Absolutely amazing news, made up for him. What a story, from retirement to the Chelsea squad (fingers crossed).

If he proves that he's a good enough backup at RB (doubt he'll be our first choice, perhaps not even 2nd) I wonder what will happen to Ferreira. With all the talk about some players leaving I've heard very little about him. He might not be young, but he's still a solid defender. Will he stay here for much longer even though he barely gets a game or will be move on to finish his career in Portugal?
I for one would not mind if he was allowed to leave for free to play more in his last few years. He's been a very loyal and good player for us and will always have my respect.

Ferreira has been a stalwart for us since he came in 2004, and like Moos, I have total respect for him.  Never complains, and always gives his all.  I hope he stays with us for another season, and hopefully to get another medal.

Sam has chosen nr 41.

Hope he gets a few runs with us, I really liked what I saw when he came on in our title winning season.

I adore Paulo. People are always too harsh on him. I'd start him every day of the week over Bosingwa. Hopefully he starts against City.

Bosingwa is gone at some point, that'll mean Paulo stays. The one thing you can always guarantee every transfer window, is that Paulo is linked with an exit and then he stays.

Just on Sam I really hope that he gets a run at some point through the season, he was really something. Was it against Stoke he got his first assist, with a spot on cross for Lamps? We could do with a man who can do that regularly.

I was at that game Spiller. Pretty sure he came on as a sub at right back, and he had a cracker! Superb cross as well, pin point. Cant wait for him to start featuring in our side!
