Aw that's crappy news! Hope that he recovers fully and it's not a recurring thing. It always scares me when one of our youth's get an injury now, as it could be a sign of a recurring injury in the future.
Anyway, I think he's a great youung player, looks good out wide as well as in the middle. I just can't help feel he'll never see our first team; maybe an Italian side.
However, I think with a lone striker being the way we play it's gong to be even harder for a striker to break into the first team. I think it'll be a focal point of our team's formation for some time to come, so when we do need to replace Drogba, it will take an exceptional replacement to come from our reserves. This is why I feel we'll buy our next "superstar" striker when it comes time to replace Drogs.
Therefore, if a youngster wants to break into our attack, he'll need to be one of the other two in the front three. I don't think Borini is as good out wide as some others already vying for those spots, and he's certainly not a Drogba. This is why I doubut we'll see him.

First I've heard of this:
First point, only three words in "young Chelsea midfielder" says Matt Barlow. No mention of his current injury or of the previous injury that kept him out for several weeks. Similarly with the reference to Kakuta's contract. Only last week Carlo stated that he was confident Kakuta would sign.

Chelsea starlet Fabio Borini frozen out by ruthless manager Carlo Ancelotti
Young Chelsea midfielder Fabio Borini has been frozen out by manager Carlo Ancelotti since rejecting a contract offer in the summer.
Ancelotti has made a point of involving young players such as Josh McEachran and Gael Kakuta in the first team this season but 19-year-old Borini has spent the campaign training with the reserves.
A year ago, the Chelsea manager named Borini as the youngster most likely to break through, but his chances have faded, despite scoring five goals in one game for the reserves last month.
Borini, signed from Bologna three years ago, does not want to leave but his contract expires in June and he has been stunned by the club’s hardline negotiating.
Ciro Ferrara, Italy’s Under 21 coach, told Borini he remains in his plans even though he has not played for Chelsea’s first team since a two-minute appearance in the FA Cup in February.
Kakuta’s contract also runs out next summer, with Chelsea showing little urgency to thrash out a new deal.
Asked recently about the 19-year-old French midfielder signed from Lens, who he once claimed represented the ‘future of Chelsea’, Ancelotti said ‘no-one is indispensable’.

Wouldn't read too much into that he said the same thing about Joe Cole not leaving .
Why are we starting to play hard ball with young player contracts ? Are agents asking too much or are we driving the price down . Why let all these players walk away for nothing after bringing them this far ?

ha ha midfielder? lol
To be honest I don't think he's ever gonna make it in our first team to be honest.

Some recent rumours saying the club's instructing Carlo not to play Borini because he's refusing to sign a new contract. Surely not the way to convince a player to stay with the club?

Strange report in the Mail. In fact, how's this for an angle: Nasty Chelsea force Borini to have surgery on his shoulder so he'll be injured during the transfer window meaning he won' tbe sold, but his Chelsea career could be over anyway. Because the Mail say it might be.
He's been frozen out so they say. Conveniently forgetting to mention the other times he's been out injured.

Fabio Borini Chelsea career could be over after shoulder surgery rules him out until January transfer window
Chelsea teenager Fabio Borini had surgery on a shoulder injury yesterday, ruling him out for two months by which point he could have signed for another club.
Borini, 19, has been frozen out by Chelsea since contract talks stalled in the summer. He has been in brilliant form for the reserves without getting a chance in the first team this term.
Lazio, Parma and Juventus are all tracking him, aware they could sign the Italy U21 international for a nominal fee.
Chelsea, ironically, have been scouting in Italy for an attacking midfielder and centre half and have been encouraged to make a bid for Lazio’s Italy midfielder Cristian Ledesma. However, Lazio’s £15m valuation may be prohibitive for a 28-year-old. A deal involving Borini as makeweight could come into play.
The Blues, meanwhile, are also looking at NK Maribor defender Sinisa Andjelkovic, 24.

Never take much from the Daily Heil with too much seriousness. Let's hope his shoulder comes good and he signs a new contract, because he is obviously talented and even if he doesn't make the grade here it'd be a shame to lose a nice little earner if he left on a free.

Is it surely confirmed that Borini will not sign a new contract with us ?
I see press reports of late stating Borini and Kakuta are not going to sign contracts ... It leaves me worried ..

I think there have been too many stories about this deal floating around for there not to be some truth in it. It's not like he's a household name, so why would the press get any delight out of running such stories?

I'm quite sure that Parma would love to sign Borini. What's debatable is whether he himself is quite as keen, or even desperate for a move as some of the quotes from his agent suggest.

I saw on one site, I think it was Football365, the headline was something like "Chelsea to lose star striker". Honestly, how pathetic is that.

Seriously???
As I was posting earlier about the press having nothing to gain from running a fake story about this, I did feel "I bet some idiot will go on about a disgruntled Striker chosing to leave Chelsea." Seriously, they'll now put something that "sources" (Sources I tells ya!) say Borini wanted out of nightmare sitation at Chelsea, or something along the lines of dressing roomunrest forced him out.
Unreal what the press will doover nothing stories. I bet half the Journo's don't even know who the f**k Borini is

I think it will be a huge loss if the management do not do everything in their power to give the kid a contract. At times I think that the suits are hell bent on preventing the team from succeeding.

I think we may sellhim, see the youth teammake somemoney, plus he has been on the injury list for quite some time which is worrying for a player of his age. I'd expect him to be sold to Parma as a bit of business, not because he's being frozen out - or any other sh*te that paints Chelsea in a bad light
