I'm not conviced yet that he has any clear strategy about what he wants to do with the squad, let alone the youngsters. Ofcourse the injuries have denied him the chance to experiment with the squad, but I have yet to see anything that would convince me to believe that this season will be any different than last season when it comes to trophies. I doubt he's thinking long term and wants to just win NOW! I'm just not convinced he can do provide that. Sure...the goals have been coming against weaker opposition, but so far we've been far too inconsistent. We've been quite lucky with how the other teams have played and in which competitions we have dropped points that we are so well placed in Premiership and UCL. I'm waiting for Felipe to prove me wrong, though. I've been waiting for that ever since he was announced as Chelsea's new manager. There I've said it...I never wanted him as our manager(I actually yelled "f**k no" in Finnish when it was announced during one match in the Euros), but now that he's here, I hope he does well.

Scolari has never been a massively popular choice on here.  if you go back to when Grant was sacked this is the results of a poll that was run on here.

OK Scolari got 7 votes but, ignoring the 25 for Jose as that was never a serious option, he was still a long way behind Hiddink, Lippi (my choice), Hughes (and even Rijkaard beat him!)

Granted Lippi and Hiddink basically ruled themselves out.

Consider it done. Pull up a chair and plonk yourself in front of the telly so you get a good seat well in time for kick off.

MANUEL, stop kicking the sh*t out of that Brand bloke and get DKW a tea and a chocolate biscuit.

I also have my serious doubts if he has a long-term plan. My fears are that he knows exactly it's not worth it. We haven't created a basis for any new incoming manager to believe he could have enough time to build up a long-term-progress that will benefit himself and not his successor. Given what we've done with our managers so far in the recent years I believe that the only view of a manager who joins Chelsea is that instant success will be honoured but the work for a long-term foundation isn't. Even the short-term solutions don't come as always: Grant signed Anelka and earned a lot of criticism, including Anelka being entitled "Le Sulk". Now he proves himself to be somewhat capable to compete with our so-called "Uber"-striker Didier Drogba. Many wouldn't have guessed this to be possible last season.

Comments like that, and "at 20" has probably convinced him to sign else where if he has any sense.

Tim, this is why I chose the word "could"

I don't think we will, and if I was Mancienne I'd be looking elsewhere.  The main thing to think about is, he is in a position where we are pretty "stacked" so I doubt we will see him in the first team, as much as I'd love to see it, and you know that, anytime soon.

Fully I expect him to take off for a lowere league team, or even a lower level premierhsip team

I can't understand that. With Terry so out of form at the moment and Ricky only just returning from a long time out with injury surely the time was ripe to give him a go. I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave permanently sooner or later as he doesn't seem to have much chance of breaking into the first team at Chelsea.

we have the option to recall him at any time, so it kinda makes sense to keep him match fit and match ready.

When the loan has ended we might have Terry, Riccy, Ivanovic and Alex. Surely Mancienne wont have a chance to take a place then?

Now when we have Terry suspended and Riccy just getting back from injury and with alot of games coming up, this should be the time to let Mancienne play. Have him for a few games and then, if we feel the others should play instead of him, send him out on loan again.

This way he wont get to play this season and probably not the next either unless we lose some players (which I doubt). I would be surprised if he didn't leave us next season. I would be sad to see him leave without getting a chance to prove himself but I would totally understand him.
