Opening day 2009-10
On June 16th the fixtures for the 2009-2010 season will be released by the Premier League. I would like to ask members on here who they want to see Chelsea play on the opening day of the 2009-10 season. For me there is only one team that I would love to see Chelsea start off against: Manchester United at Old Trafford. I accept that we have not had the best of records against them recently but I feel that we are due a result against them, especially at Old Trafford. We have not won there since Tiago's wonder goal in a 3-1 win in the 2004-2005 season.

2008/09 season
The 2008-09 season for me has been a mixture of the good, the bad and the sometimes ugly. The good memories of the season for me are the wins we had against Arsenal away (4-1), Liverpool (3-1), Middlesbrough (5-0) and the FA Cup final win against Everton. The bad has been the two defeats in the league to Liverpool, getting knocked out by then Championship side Burnley, and the way we got knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona in the semis. The ugly moments were the way Scolari got booted out, drawing at home to Hull and Drogba and Ballack's antics against the UEFA officials in the second leg of the semi-final. What this season has done to me is that it has brought me emotionally closer to the club. I love it so much and am looking forward to it to seeing it go on and achieving many great things next season.

Ancelotti is the new Chelsea manager
I am not too sure about the appointment by the board at Chelsea, but I welcome and wish Carlo Ancelotti all the best at Chelsea. Now lets get on with buidling a squad that is capable of winning everything next season. Bring it on!

We are after Dzeko
I really do hope that the club sign Dzeko. For me Dzeko is a very talented player that would do a very good job up front for the club. I am surpised that we have not gone after his strike partner Grafite. They have been explosive and is the sort of strike force that we used to have in Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen. Roman: Get Dzeko!

PL, Arsenal v Chelsea, 10/05/09, 1600
After the amount of flak that I got from Arsenal fans that were 'plastic' Barcelona fans on Wednesday night I truely hope that we can trash them on Sunday. Come on the Chels!

My heart is blue
Great post TheWestwayWonder, one that I totally agree with. What last night and Moscow has done is strengthened my love for the club. Chelsea is a great club that has a great future. The players were magnificent last night and did not deserve what happened to them. It is my deepest hope and wish that the club are able to win the Champions League one day.

What is wrong with the team above? Seems a good one to me

Chelsea 2009-10
Looking ahead to next season I think there is not much that needs to be changed, apart from selling a few off the older players and bringing in some new talent. This would be my team for next season: GK: Cech DF: Mancienne DF: Terry DF: Alex DF: Ashley Cole MF: Essien MF: Lampard MF: Fellani* AMF: Joe Cole AMF: Dzeko* CF: Aguero*, Hugain* or Ashley Young* Formation: 4-3-2-1 *) Players that I would like to see Chelsea sign in the summer. The team above would be a good one and one that would do quite well under the management of either Moyes, Bilic or Hiddink.

CL Semi, Chelsea vs Barcelona, 06/05/09, 19:45 KO
If there is one thing that I can take comfort from tonight is that my love for Chelsea Football club has been made a lot stronger, and my hatred for the rest of the fooballing community. I don't want sound like a moany git but the footballing community hates us and what we have done since 2003. They have hated us being financed by a Russian Billionaire, they try whatever they can to screw us over. There is a song that we have that is quite relevant now: f**k'em all" f**k'em all! West Ham, Liverpool, Spurs! We are the best! We are the best! We are the best so f**k all the rest! Lets keep the Blue Flag flying high!

I am surpised that someone has gone for a 3-0 home win for Chelsea As much how I would love that scoreline to happen it aint going to.

CL Semi, Chelsea vs Barcelona, 06/05/09, 19:45 KO
I would start with a 4-5-1 formation, with the following in the starting line-up: GK: Cech DF: Bosingwa DF: Ricardo Carvalho DF: John Terry DF: Ashley Cole MF: Essien MF: Lampard MF: Ballack MF: Malouda MF: Kalou CF: Drogba I would play this formation in that I feel it is a perfect counter against Barca's 4-3-3 formation, in that we would be able to outnumber then in midfield by five to three. Yes, at home we should be attacking but we should not go too gun-ho. Looked what happened to Real Madrid last night against Barca. The team that I have picked above will be good enough to get a positive result on Wednesday.

Correct Score poll vs Barcelona (H)
I am going to stick my neck out and say yes, we are going to make it. I believe in this Chelsea team and feel that they can pull off an upset against the favourites for the competition. Also its not the first time that Guus Hiddink has come up against a fancied team. Remember last year when his Russian side knocked out the favourites Holland in Euro 2008. In Guus we trust! :P

CL Semi, Chelsea vs Barcelona, 06/05/09, 19:45 KO
After seeing the game last night between Real Madrid and Barcelona I am still optomistic that we can knock Barcelona out of the Champions League. Why? Because 1) The players know what to expect, 2) Barcelona will be missing Puyol and Marquez, 3) We have a decent group of defenders and keeper that I am confident in and 4) Guus Hiddink! Come on the Chels! We can do it! :P
