Couldn’t agree more, it’s a really interesting one given how willing our owners are to splurge the cash on almost every other position and bring in players with extremely high potential and quality it’s really odd to me that we seem steadfast on not improving Sanchez. He seems like a nice bloke but he’s a bang average keeper and you can’t really afford that if we want to compete for titles and in the CL. I thought he should have saved the disallowed goal against Palace and he should have saved Paquet’s shot against West Ham. We got away with both but we won’t be that fortunate forever. I suspect we wouldn’t pay Donnarumma’s wages but we need to bring someone in as we’ll struggle if he’s our no.1 for the season.

Jackson has missed some sitters for us, I also don’t think he has the close control that Delap. Jackson isn’t a terrible player either IMO. I just don’t think he’s a starter for a league challenger as his all round game isn’t of the level to hide his lack of clinical finishing.

I hate to be that person but I’ve seen a lot of it on social media since last night, if you can’t see how that was a good centre forward performance - you’re probably not very good at judging football games. He led the line brilliantly, physically matched their defenders, held the ball up and brought others into play, stretched them in behind as well. It was the small touches when holding the ball up that I didn’t expect him to have. I think he’s going to be a very good striker from us. Strikers are judged on goals but if they’re bringing others into play, getting assists and creating chances for others it doesn’t matter who puts it in the net. I don’t think it would be lack of goals that would be the problem for him if he plays like last night as his all round game was very good. It will be if similar to other strikers we’ve had he misses big chances that he should score.

Good results got the job done! One of the weaker sides we’ll play this season IMO but you can only beat what’s in front of you. We still look a bit shaky at the back but there will have been a bit of complacency in that with a 5-1 lead as well. Great result and onto Fulham we go 💙👏

He does. I think he just has them ridiculously low and another pair of white socks over the top of them so there’s a tiny strip of black visible, surprising they get away with that tbh!

That was a world class through ball from James, Estevao needs to get his shot off when he has the chance, his inexperience showed there!
