  1.    Sexyfootball reacted to a post in a topic: Jose Mourinho thread
  2. Been a while since I posted so excuse me if I do a bit of throat clearing. The Mourinho worship is unhealthy. I mean lets say Jose was completley innocent, the players were all evil and set him up to fail and Abramovich and the board were all wrong to sack him and Mourinho is just the greatest, most special one. I don't believe that but hypothetically lets assume that is the case. The club is three points off from relegation. I mean is that something not obvious. I mean I know I'm just a lowly fan from America who can't measure up those Gods that have money plus geographic luck to attend games at the catherdral known as Stamford Bridge but the supporters do know that right? I'm just a dumb American who calls the game soccer and didn't have a conception of what "relegation" was until 5 years ago but I know its something really really bad. Even if you love Mourinho that much shouldn't you put that aside and support the club at this very dark moment? Unless you're some Mourinho superfan instead a supporter of Chelsea Football Club how the **** do you justify that? That one supporter with the banner of "three rats" with the font not even filled in so you could barely read it? Embarassing. Learn how to make a proper banner. I wouldn't even write this if the club was 6-10 but its 3 points off the relegation zone. If your son goes drunk driving then gets in a accident that's not the time to scream at him about how stupid he is, you make sure he's alright, that the bleeding has stopped then later when he's recovered you scream at him. Sure I understand sports are emotional but is this the time to boo your own team because your God Jose Mourinho was sacked for having the worst record, in god knows how long? Maybe the last game was to make a point. To let off some steam. Fine but I hope it ends and everyone gets behind the team so they dont get RELEGATED. At this point nothing should be taken for granted. Also one columnist on ESPN FC made a good point, how do the Chelsea fans even know who were the "rats". I believe Costa, Hazard and Fabregas were the few who backed Mourinho. Well that's irrelevant. But anyway, I always wanted to talk about this but I never got around to it. A fantastic spanish language book called The Special One: The Dark Side of Jose Mourinho by Diego Torres. I read the english translation of it and it really showed as the cover suggests the Dark Side of Mourinho. Nothing too salacious but the man is like a caricature. I can't say reading that I expected this to happen but the book is great context for what has happened. I never hated Jose Mourinho, I loved his personality, his attitude and the way he gave the club some color in his first and second appointments. I'm glad Mourinho had a second stint because being a latecomer I didn't experience his first reign. With that said I think he has some huge flaws as a manager, and he has some demons as a human being. And flat out the way he treated Eva was a disgrace. Its bad karma and I can't say I feel sorry for how it turned out for him. Some of the supporters are still drinking the Kool-Aid but if Mourinho does get the United job wait until "The Special One's barbed comments are turned on Chelsea FC then see how unamusing it all is. Mourinho was never about Chelsea no matter what his words, he's always been about himself. I hope Mourinho does go to United so everyone can see this. He would've picked United over Chelsea in 2013 if United hadn't picked Moyes. Torres, Diego (2014-04-10). The Special One: The Dark Side of Jose Mourinho (p. 268). HarperCollins Publishers. Kindle Edition.
  3. Well I hope some kind of boycott movement arises. I am absolutley the last person to be a leader but I'm going to try my best to get people to do something about this. Compile email addresses and phone numbers of sponsors and organizations. Call Scuadamore, pressure him to give the middle finger to FIFA and continue on. The Premier League should stop for no one. Call sponsors, tell them you wont buy their products if they sponsor the Qatar World Cup.
  4. Sorry but the American system is better. NFL: One commissioner hired by owners. A very centralized system. Premier League: Lets FA dictate the discipline, lets FIFA disrupt the entire goddamn 2022 season. I mean its laughable to imagine any of the big four American leagues let a international competition dictate their schedule. What hold does FIFA hold over the Premier League? Would they cut off England's share of the WC profits or something? What the Premier League should do is boycott. Pressure all their players to not participate. Remind them who butters their bread. Is the England national team paying them their multi-million wages? Its unfortunate because for a long time all I knew was the international game, specifically the WC but now I think its better if FIFA and the WC just died. Just ended. The corruption is too rampant.
  5. Possibly no Costa, Luis, Fabregas and Ivanovic. But hey winning the Capital One Cup is worth hurting our chances of winning the Premier League right? *sigh*
  6. Could be a defining moment for Oscar, hopefully he steps up and delivers for Brazil.
  7. So this Korean kid got my attention when that whole Barcelona transfer ban saga took place. Being Korean I was shocked because I didn't know even one korean was in La Masia much less three and particularly one that was getting a fair amount of attention. (barcaforum.com has a decent sized thread devoted to him). http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/02/barcelona-transfer-ban-warning-signs-fifa Then recently I googled him again and saw this. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/03/20/16-year-old-korean-messi-rejects-quadruple-salary-at-chelsea-and/ http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2002392-chelsea-transfer-news-blues-shouldnt-bother-with-barca-starlet-seung-woo-lee Its depressing because its true. In theory I'd love a korean player at Chelsea but in reality I'm wary because what's the point if they're just going to sit on the bench like Park Chu Young did at Arsenal? He'd either get loaned out or sit on the bench. If Schurrle can't get regular starting time what chance with some Korean kid have? He's too young right now but when he's 19-22 (he's 16 now) I mean. I don't think Mourinho will still be here by that time but assuming its the same regime in charge the same policies will continue. Chelsea only want these young players so they can loan them out and then sell them when their value appreciates compared to Barcelona who seems to genuinely want these players. Barca is hardly a bastion of moral superiority now that they're in the process of getting Suarez but you can't help but admire their youth system. Anyway its just highlighted this weakness of ours where I can't even root for a korean to come here because I know he won't get a chance. Too bad because i'd be financially beneficial since the Korean market is wide open since Park Ji Sung left Manchester United. Here are some highlights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxDrpjmQ5b0#t=68
  8. Courtois and Lukaku both need to be humbled. Courtois because he basically demanded Chelsea sell the greatest goalkeeper in club history so he can be the starter. Even though he's proabably right he should've shut his mouth. Lukaku because he's a whiny brat. Lets go USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Fabian Johnson will put Hazard in his pocket. We better just sell him now before his value drops after that happens. USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! 10. Pretty interesting feeling, someone from your club team going up against your national team. Hopefully Eden has a really poor game. And I hope Lukaku starts since he will have zero impact on the game.
  11. If you need to be brought up to speed on this situation. Story http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2014/feb/26/qatar-foreign-workers-slave-conditions Beyond the Pitch podcast on Qatar (warning: podcast opens automatically) http://www.beyondthepitch.net/podcasts/edition/index.cfm/beyond-the-pitch/2013/11/11/nicholas-mcgeehan/ I such at influencing people to do anything but this one time I have to try. I'm not much of a cause person, but this thing. I mean if you have any conscience whatsoever you have to boycott the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Really there's only one issue that should matter which is the appalling slave like conditions that the foreign workers in Qatar are working in (I believe they are mostly Nepalese). I mean workers are dying, DYING right now in Qatar. Now the pressure seems to be snowballing thanks to recent revealations on bribery and all that so hopefully the pressure reaches the point where Qatar is stripped of its hosting duties and its given to a more deserving country (Australia, USA) so a boycott will ultimately be unneccessary. But everyone needs to do their part, all you need to do is talk about this. That's all it takes. Talk about it at pubs, at message boards, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, whatever. Word of the mouth is the most powerful tool we have. You don't have to be a advocate, just talk about how much a World Cup in Qatar will suck. This is the worlds game, the people's game, don't let yourself be associated with something that is this evil. Those stadiums in Qatar will literally have been built with blood. Don't let your hands get dirty.
  12. As a Chelsea fan obviously sad to see Frank go, but I think it was time. As a MLS fan I'm thrilled. I think Frank is perfect for MLS, still plenty left in the tank, good at interviews. I'm glad he picked NYCFC over LA Galaxy, why be the less glamorous version of Beckham when you can carve out your own legacy in NYC? I'll def go see him when NYCFC comes to my city.
  13. The reality distortion field is weakening. Jose needs to focus on just wins next season, not powerplays, not stinging barbs against Arsene Wenger, or anything else.
  14. Dump Mata (awesome guy, class act), Luiz (fun loving, loveable character) for Thidewhatever "I have no emotional attachment to Chelsea" Courtouis and Diego "I'm playing for Spain instead of Brazil because I'm the worlds biggest mercenary and have no loyalty to my country" Costa. Disgusting. Romelu "I don't want to look at the European Cup because I didn't have any part in winning it" Lukaku can feck off as well. Whatever outsiders have said I've always thought Chelsea had more likeable players than other teams, even John Terry. Now its a bit soulless. Mourinho better win because there's nothing else left.
  15. Legitimately heartbroken. Same with Ashley and Frank but David is still so young. I don't disagree with the logic of selling him for 40-50million but guys like David Luiz are what give the Chelsea brand a nice glow. David was such a great ambassador for the club. David did a really good job connecting with fans. He will be sorely missed.
