    Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

When you think back to the terrified torres days when defences bullied our team all over the place its great we have a proper centre forward who fights his cause.

Maybe we should think about bringing Torres back, if so many supposely Chelsea fans can not stand Costa, makes you think what they do want.

  7. Worse than Suarez, worse than a player that actaully bit 2 players (one of them one of ours) and racially abused another? Yeah, hes worse than that.

  8. I fully agree with you. When it works in our favour it's all well and good but he should have been off today, and that could have cost us the game. He can wind others up all he wants but he needs to make sure it doesn't get out of hand and he doesn't do anything that will get him sent off.

  9. I know he was treading a very dangerous line, but how refreshing to see a chelsea player fighting for the team again...it's been a while...rightly or wrongly, his performance inspired the others to follow suit and take the battle to the opposition...about time

  10. He will get banned but I think him firing it up was worth it. Type of win needed to push on both mentally and on the league table. Lucky not to get red but maybe that's just evening out the missed stonewall penalty on Hazard that should of seen Gabriel on his first yellow meaning the Costa incident should of seen a straight red for Costa's face push, a second yellow for Gabriel's reaction and personally I'm torn if Kolscielny should get one for his grabbing of Costa which lead to our irritable forward's over reaction. He has reputation that's already going against him in terms of ignored

  12. Costa winds me up. He had a blistering start to his Chelsea career but he's no longer half the player. I'd like to see him concentrate on playing for once. He needs the practise.

  13. How many straight reds has he got for Chelsea?

  14. I love seeing him play. Sometimes he needs to reign it in. But that's him take him as he is. And all the c*nt pundits moaning about him need to get over it. Lee Dixon was moaning about the cazorla sending off saying "The game's gone if that's a yellow" if they're all for the physicality and the old school element of the game. Then they should be welcoming a big number 9 with open arms.

  15. He's really starting to get on my nerves tbh, I don't mind so much him been on edge to play but he needs to learn when to stop it. He should have been off today and Jose needs to take notice of that, he might not get as lucky next time.

  17. The fact that some of our own fans don't like him is a sign of the times, it saddens me how soft the game has become, Costa is in the Keane/Viera mould and people aren't used to it I guess, because he's a throwback. I'll admit that he can go too far, but he gets a lot of unjust criticism as well, today he probably crossed the line, but he also gave everything, every neutral and rival fan hates him, but I don't understand our own fans who bash him. Arsenal fans would love him in their team, other fans would love him in their team, I heard those idiots on Talksh*t earlier saying he wouldn't be i

  19. Trouble is, it's hard enough being a Chelsea player, in terms of getting anything of refs, Costa is very unlikely to have a decision go his way after this, and that's the trouble, defenders will know they can take liberties, they will always get the benefit of the doubt, whereas Costa will have to walk on eggshells.

    Victor Moses

Did he do that well on loan? Played less than 20 games for stoke and Liverpool and didn't really make many headlines. Before his good pre season barely any Chelsea fans wanted him to play.

I didn't see it but you know how it is with Arsenal, we win leagues and big cup competitions, they win internet polls and likes competitions. Let them burn some frustration, poor guys forgot what it is to see a PL goal against the Blues. :laugh2:

This will be the main talking point on Match of the Day. Referees will be all over this in future matches because of the tear-strained Arsenal fan boys in the media. Costa needs to cool it.

  27. Should have seen red today, was incredibly fortunate not to have undone a really good half's performance. I've defended him always in the past but today feels like the first time a victory of ours has been tainted.

  28. I dont like his antics. He's becoming worse than Suarez, but isnt even close to Suarez' quality. Every game he somehow escapes a deserved red. I'd hate him if he wasnt playing for chelsea, as it is i just dont like him.
    1 point
  29. It's like i said above though, he does all of his work in the area. If we want to continue to get the best out of him, we need to give him the ball in area, and do it quickly too, all this tapping the ball around the oppositions area doesn't really get us anywhere.

Baba Rahman - The heir to Ash?

Not really, A to Z is better and he's a natural RB, Luis was better, Baines is probably better, and City have got a bit of talent in that area, Bertrand was a good back up for Ash especially in Ash's last season or two but I never saw him as a stand out LB which hopefully Baba will be.

  36. The thing with Diego Costa is that he is a goalscorer, nothing more really. When he is scoring, he is deadly, if he isn't then he isn't offering much at all. Basically, he will click if the rest of the squad clicks. I guarantee that if the midfield was feeding him the right passes, he would score.

  37. JT is in the team at present on his leadership abilities. His form has been poor as has Ivan's. Suddenly if you were to take these two out of the firing line we'd be totally bereft of leaders on the pitch. When you couple this with the loss of Cech and Drogba the backbones of the dressing room resembles a jellyfish.

  39. Here's his goals. Great control for the first goal, the second goal was a nice finish too. The third goal comes from a header, i don't know what the keeper was doing, i think the power of Drogba's shot stunned him

  40. The first time I get to see a Chelsea legend play live and he scores a bloody hat-trick He was a beast for Montreal and the Chicago defenders didn't quite know how to respond to him. Also, was this banner shipped to Canada from the Bridge:

    Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

He has that fighting spirit and a will to win, not to mention he scores plenty of goals, I'm not sure why you wouldn't take to him. Last season, he gave us what we'd been missing as soon as Drogba left, the best striker we've signed in six years, since Anelka in 2008.

    Thibaut Courtois

I think Peter Crouch has been criminally underrated throughout his career and would have a) been taken more seriously and b) had his technical talent properly recognised if he hadn't been so ridiculously tall and goofy-looking. He's basically the closest thing England has to Ibrahimovic (although that says more about how sh*t English players are than how good Crouch is). He's still fairly good even now.

  47. Your whole post is nonsense but especially this bit. Diego has the best goals to shots ratio in the Premier League. Tired of reading unfounded bashing of the team and players this close season.

  48. Wasn't he cut from Villa because they thought he was crocked, then on to Bolton who were relegated the same season we took him in teh January Transfer window? Now he's gone on to win it all with us. Bet he never expected this, but glad he's part of our team.
