  1. They'll ban Costa instead for inciting mild mannered Gary into rebellious behaviour.

  2. it means ~0.6 goal per game. it's amazing he still able to reach this number even after last season's comedy. imagine if last season never existed this is why it always baffles me when someone says he's an average striker (he's not)

  6. I love the changes Conte is making to this team, we genuinely look like title contenders. It's only four games into the season but you already can see how much we've improved and we're dominating games, it'll only take a few games till we get in full stride. What a nice change from being the most defensive counter attacking team for years, into a team that dominates games all over the pitch and creating chances every few minutes. Imagine what we'd be like when we finally take most of our chances?! Exciting times ahead!

  7. Fortunately Luiz was on the bench yesterday, so our defence didn't make any costly errors leading to goals.

  8. Did you see how angry Costa was at the end that we drew? Love the man.

  10. I don't disagree, and the next two matches will tell us a great deal more about our chances this season. That said, the corresponding fixtures last season saw us draw at home to West Ham, draw at Watford away, and lose at Swansea away. A 2 point haul compared to the 7 we have gained this season (plus a win at home to Burnley), so the results are clearly better as are the performances, so there are reasons to be cheerful.

  11. Stuff like "genuine title contenders" "hard to beat" is jumping the gun I think. We've played 3 of the worst 6 sides in the league and a West Ham side that have had a shambolic start to the season. Keep the feet on the ground for now i'd advise.

  12. Not Cahills biggest fan, but fair play to him calling it like it was and showing hoe much this means to him. FA deciding to not press charges is the closest you get to an admiting the ref f**ked up

  13. Kante is a great player, but I'm not sure why Chelsea fans are insistent on comparing him to Pogba who is an attacking midfielder??

  14. Yet another performance that makes the notion that he is a clumsy brute without finesse and brilliant ball control laughable. He was turning those CBs inside and out all afternoon.

    Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

As I keep saying about Diego, he is absolutely brilliant. Without him today, we lose. Simple as. PS: Marriner's a c**t.

  17. It was defiantly a foul, there are no two ways about it. I do also think Cahill took far too long on the ball in the first place though and got himself in an unnecessary situation. If that had happened to Luiz on his debut I can't help but wonder what you would have had to say about it

  18. Despite what Poll says, it was still a foul.

  19. We are clearly playing a style where we are not going to thump it up the field in these situations (whether or not we should is another question), so given that, Cahill done what was expected of him. The first touch was poor, but he done enough to move the ball away and had he not been fouled it would of been a simple backpass, but since he clearly was, a free kick should of been given. In both situations he would of successfully defended without giving them possession... All of this talk of "he took too much time" -- he literally took a second on the ball before he was fouled. The simple

  22. Part of me thinks he/we the club have to accept bad decisions lets not waste energy on this. Part of me thinks that Gary isn't the type of player to speak out on these matters and he has perfectly fair points. 3 officials don't see that and he is not calling anyone names or personally criticising individuals so I don't think he will be banned, at worst slapped wrist and tone it down a bit maybe. Agree with Adam, it is at least good too see how much it means to him

    Eden Hazard

If Oscar out in a performance like Hazard did today he'd get crucified. Really disappointing from him after such a bright start to the season.

  27. He hasn't really said anything wrong though. Posting a video of the incident and then saying incredible with a few emoji's is hardly worth a ban.................oh wait, i forgot the most important part, he's playing for Chelsea.

  28. Cahill is getting a lot of the blame for this but i personally don't think Cahill did anything wrong. He may have invited pressure but he was in complete control, Fer was actually nowhere near the ball and made no attempt to actually win the ball. All Fer was attempting to do was hack Cahill down, and he succeeded, he even got away with it too.

  29. He was brilliant today, he deserves to be celebrating a win, and he would have if we had a ref who could do his job properly. How many times did Amat foul Costa ? must have been 3, and this was after already being on a yellow card.

  30. On the other hand, he just might be looking for the ball after an attempted cross into the box by Jesper Gronkjaer's grandfather.

  33. There was no need at all for that extra touch, the pass was very simple and could be hit directly back to Courtois or Terry. I don't think he did himself any favours by rushing back up after such a clear foul either. There are alot of overlooked freekicks whenever players gets closed down like this, although it happens alot more often further up the pitch, best thing to do is not to create an unnecessary situation.

  34. He took an extra touch and would of been fine if he did not get fouled, or if the referee acknowledged the foul. Blaming him for the goal is ridiculous. What the hell do you not understand?

  36. Whatever the case, I am just happy there is fire and passion in the team again! I honestly was getting bored with football, and just didn't feel the same interest for Chelsea -- purely because to me the players seemed disinterested (bar a few exceptions like Azpi who always seem to try their best). Finally I can watch these games, and win or lose, at least I am not watching with apathy. Last games loss for example stirred up many emotions in me I haven't had for awhile. But that is exactly what football is about. Win or lose, atleast we are showing fight and passion now! And I think

    Willian

I sure as hell wouldn't, Willian was our best player last season and has has another good start to the season..Martial on the other hand has fallen below two teenagers in the United pecking order.

  40. One of the most pleasing aspects that I've seen from Conte is that we look hard to beat. If a team is going to beat us, they will have to match our determination. This will go a long long way. We've already seen this in action with recovering so many points from difficult positions.

In real time it looked like he bottled it but on the replay you can see its just a poor airshot from Hazard.

    Eden Hazard

I think the difference is that Oscar does it a lot more often. I don't think Hazard was that bad today though, i don't think anybody had a bad game. The only thing about Hazard that really annoyed me was when he bottled a challenge with the goalkeeper when we could have won the game. He made a few mistakes towards the end of the game but i think that was because he was starting to get tired.

    Eden Hazard

He had some good moments but he was slipping, having poor touches in crucial moments and miskicking the ball all over the place, he should've been subbed instead of Willian. Not to mention he pulled out of the chance with the onrushing keeper.
