Blackburn at home first game of the season after we went down. Shed was closed. Joe made a mistake for one goal and put his hand up to give away a penalty for the other, lost 2-1. Joe played the game having just lost a baby. I'm sure us fans would never have given him such a hard time with the facts. The relationship between Joe and the fans returned to being one of adulation and respect. Just shows that we don't always know the full picture with players lives. Current day we have people moaning at Willian and now we know his mum has been suffering with cancer and has passed away. These guys are human beings.

Bit like the pitch in the early 2000's against Charlton when we won 4-0

Conte on the suspending betting about him getting sacked: "I am trying to find who put the money on that! I have good communication and relationship with the club and it is nothing"

In what world is bidding 58 million for a CB Low Balling? Transfers in real life are harder than they appear in football Manager.

The email you have listed on you're profile and you're username on another Chelsea forum is Bellion, and by coincidence there is an ex Man.Utd player with the same name. I would give you the benefit of the doubt if you said something positive once in a while, but to come on a Chelsea forum named after an ex United player and constantly spreading bile about the club.......

The end result remains the same - none of Conte's targets bar Kante were secured regardless of what the Napoli chairman said or didn't say. Spread that 100 million pounds over the past few seasons and it's peanuts compared to what the other big clubs have spent. Low-balling and making last minute panic buys are the hallmarks of the Board whether you care to admit it or not.

Hopefully, I'd rather we started sacking players rather than Conte

McLaughlin was a good player. Formed a great partnership with Pates. I think he missed out on playing for Scotland at full level because of players like Gough, Hansen, Miller and Narey. A shame that some fans turned on him. I remember in one game at the Bridge - I forget who we played - when he got loads of abuse. I recall he gave the Benches the V sign.

Lovely guy Doug As with nearly all players from the 60s', 70s' and 80s' they lost out on the vast sums earned by players today. But those players are far humble and still in touch with the fans, unlike today's players who have lost touch with the public I met Dougie earlier this year for lunch in London and he gave me his 1986 Full Members Cup Final winners shirt and A couple of track suits. A real gent

I honestly don't think the Vitesse loan was bad for Solanke, I believe he was only 17 when he arrived there. I'm not sure he would have been able to handle the physicality of the English lower leagues at that age. The only real downside I see is that young players getting moved around a lot don't have a real chance to acclimatize. New city, language, customs, league, friends etc. Imo we should do more 2 year loans.

The supporters were there as part of the CPO. And if we want to be extremely technical about it, Ken Bates did more to save this club than Roman - Roman built upon what was there. Regardless, there would still be a Chelsea Football Club playing football at Stamford Bridge, albeit it with the chance it's not as successful as the one we know today, because of the supporters that are part of the CPO. I disagree 100% with your last two lines. Our club is nothing without local supporters. If they stop going, or are priced out, they are not going to be magically replaced by other passionate supporters locally ready to swell the ranks, nor the "millions" of supporters we have around the world. Football dies if local support is treated poorly. This club, this league, this game is nothing without local supporters.
