    Eden Hazard

well bobby it isn't that simple because it is a matter of opinion not a matter of fact. for example, I don't agree that he had a run of poor games; liverpool away he didn't get into the game often and second half against hull he struggled but otherwise I haven't seen too much to criticise. more fundamentally, I don't think that a player deserves to be criticised for every poor game or mistake they make- IMO that is immature and unrealistic. and that is a general view- when you're talking about a player who has done it for the club on countless occasions over the years, lead the club to a

  2. Yes we played counter attacking football under Mourinho and we still do now under Conte, however there are huge differences between the two teams. As Nibs pointed out Mourinho would take a 1-0 and 'park the bus', under Conte he always wants more and goes for a kill. I could see why many people in the press would have seen it as anti-football under Mourinho yet enjoy the displays from Conte.

Alonso's been much better than I expected. He is one of the best headers of the ball. I mean he wins the headers on his flank with a very high percentage. Sorry for Bellerins injury but that was man against a boy.

Fair enough, but I think it's as simple as a player plays poorly they get critisced. They play well they get praised. One good performances doesn't make getting criticism for one bad performance wrong and vice versa. There can be factors in why performances are good or bad and they need to be weighed up but these guys are multi million pound professionals and we have a right to praise or critique them. I'm not talking about the extremists who say players should be dropped cause of a few poor games or the ones who because of a few good games get carried away about Balon D'or's and the like. But

  11. Although I found the 04-06 team very enjoyable to watch, I can understand why neutrals prefer this team. This team is capable of finesse, and cleverer interplay, and attacks and defends as a whole and has so much more energy overall. I don't mind "parking the bus" but like some others have said, not one time has this team "parked the bus". The general mentality is less fearful. While I don't think Jose said anything here to displease us, I do feel that he is being very simplistic and he is wrong to believe and suggest that two teams are similar just because they play counter attacking fo

I think that a lot of you people need to actually READ what the man said in this last article. He's not cracking on us, but the way that the media flip-flop as to what and who they praise and what and who they slate. He is right, previously the way that we are playing now was criticised in the press and by TV pundits and opposition fans as functional, brutish and not very entertaining. It happens that Mourinho was in charge of us at the time, and just look back at the comments in here in the second half of our last championship season. Wingeing about the style of play was rife. No

He's not put a foot wrong, some of us didn't want him (me included) but I'm happy to swallow humble pie and say I was wrong. He's been solid as a rock for us and he's been improving every game. I'm not saying we can't get someone to compete with him, far from it we should but he's certainly been better than a lot are giving him credit for.

The irony concerning the latter is particularly tiresome. Here's the thing - jose is jose - he hasn't changed much at all. But now that he's not at our club some of you that were, shall we say, a bit shy in coming forward to take issue with his statements when he was our manager & we we're doing well, feel that it is necessary to comment on his on-going pronouncements whereas most of us who stuck by him for a long period but subsequently & long a

  22. I don't think anyone will disagree that Mourinho acts like a prick (he did on both spells here aswell as everywhere else) and right now he's grumpier than ever. Some of things he says I even will say things like oh shut up FFS but I mostly ignore the stuff like above because that's just what he does. As usual people rise to the bate and (quite clearly on here) sometimes read far to much into what he's said.

No way he's better than Maka yet. Let's get back to this when he has won a number of PL and a few CL trophies, dominating midfields for years and years... Then again, he's a completely different player than Maka. They are both short, bald, black and play dm but the similarities end here, their playing styles don't match at all. It's a pointless comparison.

  28. I am not buying that Inter want to part ways with Stefano Pioli. He has transformed a team that was 12th in the table, who are now in 4th. The Inter players are galvanized to performed for Pioli. I watched the match vs Juve & Inter played well. IMHO the refs prevented Inter from obtaining a result. Also I truly believe that Don Antonio is enjoying his time w/ CFC. Look how he celebrates w/ the fans & I believe he loves the fact that the fans chant his name. Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner - Don Antonio & CFC are a match made in Heaven!!

Pressure is getting to him, doesn't like the fact we are getting praise with the players he had. The side of Jose that brings him down sadly, always been the same. Still the longer he is like this shows we are winning and doing well. If I were him I'd be more concerned with those around him like Arsenal, City, Spuds and Pool....scrap for 4th

I'd say there are doing a bit better than 'OK' tbh. Look at the players we have had in the past in those positions and we have not been in such a great place in the league. I get they are not big names and don't do stepover's or nutmeg opponents but what they do possess is traits that are vital to how Conte plays his football which in turn is vital to our success. Alonso and Moses are in their first full season with the club and have adapted to it like ducks to water...Look at the goals both have scored and impact they have had in several games this season. I know some people will

I don't think he pulls up any trees at LB, but at wing back he's a different proposition. I don't think we've seen the best of him yet and reckon it's only a matter of time until he scores a worldy that Gareth Bale would be proud of. Honestly think what we paid is a bargain.

its a back handed dig at us though inferring we play the same boring football that was prominent under his leadership. The media aren't calling us boring because the simple fact is we're not. We were, under Mourinho, often tiring to watch though. He can't seem to see the difference and just thinks because we're winning with less possession the media should be slaughtering us as they did with him. If Conte was playing boring football i'm sure they would, Mou had no need to mention us to further his 'the media hate me' agenda.

    Tammy Abraham

considering he has 16 goals 2 assists in a league where the top scorers are both more experienced than he is (especially gayle) and are 5/6 years older than he is, it's impressive. on top of that he's in a relegation battling team, while the other top scorers are in teams which are in top half of the table. bamford was at a promotion battling middlesbrough, so it makes tammy's accomplisments so much more impressive considering the position his team are in. put him in a team with good players around him and we could see an even better abraham.

Not really, he was signed by robbie but only really came in to the team under Benitez who moved Ivan to center back in place of JT and Dave came in on the right, He is probably the best one v one defender in the league and on the right offered a very decent option going forward. Amazing player. But even if he wasn't there was enough resentment towards Benitez (rightly so) at the time that i think he could have stuck me up front and no one would have noticed. Dave was switched to leftback by Jose when it became clear that cole was passed it and that became more obvious with daves defensive perf

I'd go along with this, i think the general apathy towards him is he's not Roberto Carlos or Dany alves, but he has done a tremendous job for us, and i think the saying does everything well and nothing spectacular (although i'd like to see him behind a few more set peices) sums him up, and is that not what you want from you're full back?

Going to throw it out there, I think he's been the 2nd best left back in the league this season behind Danny Rose. Personally I think he's been an astute signing and has performed really well in his first season at the club.
