Excuse me good sir, you seem to have a rather large chip on your shoulder. Would you like someone to remove it? How many players come from foreign leagues and need time to settle in and get use to the English game? Would you have us have sold Drogba?

Liverpool can attack well because klopp has set them up for that, and they will either nothing because of it, but will batter lesser teams along the way. Their defense is embarrassing. Seems utd fans are seeing what i saw in lukaku too now, he has been atrocious of late. "AAnyone else just given up on Lukaku? I'd love for him to prove me wrong but right now it feels like Mourinho was chasing the ghost of Drogba with that signing, without seemingly noticing that Rom has basically none of the attributes Drogba had that made him so effective in a Mourinho team. He's just perpetually caught on his heels, either too slow off the mark to get in between the defenders and the ball, or just having it nicked off him with ease when he does control it. I can look past the lack of technique on the ground if he was capable of a simple layoff/holdup game just so we don't concede possession constantly, but it feels like he's just incapable of even judging the flight of the ball, let alone get a head on it. Can't help but notice how the team seems to be trusting him less and less to hold up the ball either, they'll often pick a different option even when he's in a good position. The less said about his constant finger pointing at teammates, lack of celebrations and defensive work in our box the better.Dunno what it is, I'm usually happy enough to give players all the chances in the world to fail, hell I never gave up on Nani and Anderson ffs, but I can't help but have that feeling you get when you check your bank account after a night out and find out you somehow spent the better part of $200 with nothing but a hangover to show for it."

This is it. The same sort who are quick to throw young players they don't like under the bus at the earliest opportunity then complain about losing them when they've developed into top players. Only been a few months and they want the man gone. Utter stupidity, imo. Give him a fair amount of time and then decide. Drinkwater is probably not fully fit but I've not been exactly impressed with him so far either, so not sure what some on here are clamouring about. (I think he'll do a solid-good job, eventually , though, Drinkwater that is.)

And yet in the last five minutes, when Newcastle had a go, city looked vulnerable...I know they have a bloody good side, but teams are showing them far too much respect

    Tiémoué Bakayoko

I think we as fans are too hard on young players that come in and then don't meet our expectations; yes he has had a few stinkers and certainly missed a few chances, he is young and has talent that needs to be harvested and directed; clearly Conte believes in him or he wouldn't play him as much as he does. I'm sure if Jose was still at the helm he would have binned him, as he did with several others and we all know where they've ended up. As bad as he appears to be, have some patience or he could end up joining the likes of Salah and KDB.

Not a great advert for supposedly the best entertaining and competitive league in the world. What's happened is that the rich teams with the best players are expected to win, the mid lower and bottom feeders simply rely on getting a point and surviving and therefore are forced to do nothing except defend.....the EPL can only blame itself.

What a thoroughly depressing performance this is by Newcastle...they have just one centre back out there but are being allowed to cruise...no wonder Man City have a winning streak with so many teams not even attempting to score a goal even when they're losing..

Moses has always had good pace, dribbling, crossing and a decent shot so it was an easy transition to RWB. Bakayoko ain't got any decent skills. Maybe he's good in goal.

Hindsight - the thing Chelsea fans are currently using in regards to Salah & KDB who weren’t give a chance and moved on to early. If this time next season he hasn’t improved fair enough but I’m willing to give the guy who turn Moses from deadweight to steady wing back a chance.

Very average at best. If his performances don't improve drastically(which would require his skill set to massively improve.) he's gone at the end of the season. I hold very little hope he'll even improve never mind add quality, worthwhile performances to this team. Bad buy. OverAndOut, I totally agree. Worst part about playing him apart from playing him is that he's keeping other good players in the squad like Fab and Drink outta the team.

Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

Well, its not guaranteed that he would be able to provide the same assists from completely different zone of the pitch. You see where his shots go? It's very unusual the way Dave's kicking the ball. He was on the right side, he was on the left side and simply he didn't deliver anything. I believe the way he is spinning the ball is possible only from where he stands right now. + he is the best defender in the team. Absolutely no need to change something that works.

probably spending the inevitable coutinho money most probably. then again who have they actually bought in previous seasons for big fees?
  27. 1 point
Conte is also a classy guy. Always behaving well and if it boils over he apologises like a man and moves on. A certain portugese coach lacks that class. I'm pretty sure Roman would love him to stay for long but to be honest I don't see it happening. Not solely because Chelsea fire managers but Conte probably wants to see other cities and other clubs at this point in his career. Hope he stays beyond this season.
  28. 1 point
there was an interview (not the chelsea tv one) after emenalo left the club in which he stated lukaku was conte's first choice. i am sure he admired morata too, but he obviously saw lukaku as a target man similar to costa.

His problems are mental. Needs to anticipate better and not lose focus. That being said, needs to up the ante on a lot of his abilities. Average in pretty much most of them but is woeful in finishing.

    Riyad Mahrez

That's what I've been saying. It's just not right. Surely we've got a bit more about as us a club than to look at a team who won the PL a couple of seasons ago and just take the main players. Be like City or Utd now coming to us and nicking Azpi, Kante & Hazard. Forget Mahrez - let's uncover a gem from somewhere else, or better still bring one through our highly thought of Academy.

    Marcos Alonso

today is one of the things that annoys me with alonso. he will be poor, but he's always got a goal in him from a fk or header, finding space on the left side of the oppo's box and scoring with his feet etc. we do need a better lwb, but when he scores important goals for us it's hard to just push him aside.

I thought the whole point of Boxing day football was that every team plays on that day ? Why the hell are Arsenal getting the Christmas period off, especially when they last played on the 22nd ? They don't have to play until 6 days after their last game. The rest of us had to play 3 days later.

    Riyad Mahrez

If Gary Cahill had defended against Mahrez like Chris Smalling did tonight for Leicester's first there would be a lynch mob out for him. That said, I'm sure I've simply forgotten about all the many packed defences Leicester successfully broke down with Mahrez as a key constituent of the attack...

The ref was looking right at that there and he's let Smalling off AGAIN ! Smalling is such a sh*t defender, all he does is pull and push players and he's allowed to get away with it every time.

    Marcos Alonso

What is apparent though is we get good balls from the RCB with Azpi finding Morata. I'm hoping we get Sandro during this break and that Alonso could play LCB because as we all state he has several other attributes besides pace and crosses.
  44. 1 point
f**k me, was there really a time when Oscar was rated as a better player than KDB (and Coutinho)?!! Seems a LONG time ago that. All we can hope is that the club has learnt from the costly mistake in the case of KDB (and now it appears Salah too) and that we give players a bit more time in future or at least make sure we have that much talked about buy-back clause.

I think the board will wait til the end of the season and depending on how well we do will offer him a new contract. I think he's shown his class, as fans we've got a great connection with him and would be nice to see him here long term and backed massively in the transfer market.

    Marcos Alonso

They're both defenders, if Alonso had Bale's pace he'd be a true winger. His crossing is hit or miss but he still offers more going forward than the large majority of defenders. 10 goals and 4 assists in the league so far for us. The threat is real.

Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

I don’t think it is all over with Antonio just yet, it is surely obvious to the board how much he is loved by us fans, his name is sung with gusto every game. I just hope for once they take it on board and do what they can to keep him. At the moment, I cannot say with confidence who I would have to replace him. In my opinion he is that good. I love his passion and the fact he celebrates every goal as if he has just scored himself. We need to tie him into a new contract, give him anything he wants and back him in the summer window. Last season of course but also this season, I feel I’ve enjoyed going the bridge more than I have in years.... i think Contes passion has definitely rubbed off on the fans.

Not that i would agree with Antonio being sacked should it happen but i am not big on fans having a say in how the club should be run, if it was up to the average Chelsea fan Conte wouldn't have been appointed in the first place.
