    Sarri - In or Out?

Never won a trophy. sh*t manager.

United have spent about nearly a billion since Ferguson left, and they still have Phil Jones and Chris Smalling starting, what on earth has gone wrong? They aren't even regular starters for England for crying out loud. That really is one of the biggest mysteries in football for me.

It has been decades since I have wanted any team other than Chelsea to win the CL, but I am fervently hoping Ajax can do it this season.

I’m so pleased that United gave the job to Ole permanently. Their recent form shows that his work has been a massive bubble which eventually bursts without any real substance. The United board are so naive and stupid. They should have waited to see how things planned out. Instead bought into the hype that Ole created.

Normally i would agree, but the irony in this story is it all happened on the 30th anniversary of Hillsborough. Their own fans showing no respect for the memory of the dead, absolutely deplorable if you ask me.

Completely understand why they did it but just slightly surprised how they did some of it. They've spent years building some of these plot threads and I'm worried they're going to either not resolve some or do it in a heavy handed way which would be a shame because the show has mostly been excellent and I'm just surprised they've limited themselves to just 6 episodes to conclude everything. I get quite invested in some of the more minor plots such as The Hound and Brienne/Jaime so I'm hoping they don't get neglected.

    Chelsea get Top FOUR

I don't think goals from Midfield is a massive issue, Liverpool/Barca/Real. none of these teams really have goalscorers in the middle of the park. Jorginho/Kante/Barkley - 8 goals in 89 premier league games Wijnaldum/Keita/Fabinho - 4 goals in 70 Premier league games Modric/Kroos/Casemiro - 6 goals in 78 La Liga games Busquets/Arthur/Rakitic - 3 goals in 83 La Liga games I've lost count the amount of times Luiz or Jorginho have dinked a ball in behind for one of our attackers to make an absolutely abysmal touch or finish. Look at our front line after Hazard (16 goals) in the league Pedro (8 goals), Morata (5 goals) Higuain (3 goals) Willian (3 goals) Liverpool's - Salah (19 goals) Mane (18 goals) Firmino (12 goals) Shaqiri (6 goals), even Shaqiri who sits on the bench or gets chucked on deeper has doubled Willian's output. We'll always struggle until we get rid of Willian and bring in a goalscorer up top.

Be interesting to see what team Sarri picks. The tie is very much in the balance and the away leg showed that certain players can't necessarily be trusted to deputize. Personally I think top 4 is unlikely at this point and so Europa League is now our best hopes of Champions League football next season so I'd like Sarri to pick a strong team for this one. Kepa Zappacosta - Christensen - Luiz - Emerson Kante - Kovacic - RLC CHO - Giroud - Hazard Dave has played a lot of football recently and I think Zappacosta should come in to offer some fresh legs. He's also likely to have chances to get forward as Prague seek an equaliser and him and CHO could cause problems down the right putting in crosses for Giroud.

Whoever signs De Ligt is going to have one of the best CB's in the world for years to come. He's only 19 but he's built and plays the game like he is at his peak. Reminds me of Terry in that way.

No way, if that was us that got knocked out on an offside goal, I would be furious.

This game has been unreal. As much as I hate Spurs, it's two top teams going at each other. Son is an absolutely brilliant player.
  18. 2 points
I hope Spurs do go through, I can't stand them but I don't want City to win the Quadruple and it would be better for City to not get too distracted from the League.

Great day that was, I was there, in fact I was at every Palace/Chelsea game in the 80s. I'd been boring my old man for weeks about Pat Nevin (dad was Palace) and actually he had quite a quiet game that day as Henry Hughton was kicking lumps out of him. Then suddenly he picked up the ball and went on a run past 3palace players including Hughton. Then a few minutes later he popped up with the winner...the old man gave a look that said...dont you dare say it 🙂 Im in a photo of this game in front of a Chelsea union jack but managed to ruin it as i was scratching my head with a programme at the time.

    Sarri - In or Out?

By Castles I assume it's referring to Duncan Castles? If so the man is a no nothing twat of the highest order and is one of the last footie journalists I would expect to have any sort of inside knowledge of the inner workings at Chelsea. Which is a myth that can be put to bed following our signings of Higuain and Jorginho.

I wouldn’t be against City going out tonight as it will help in the league as they have Spurs and United coming up. We really can’t have Liverpool winning the league. We really can’t.

    Sarri - In or Out?

All well and good but how many passes per 90 minutes and what’s their average possession? These are the important statistics!

Probably one of the worst delivered episode of the series. John Snow casually hopping on top of dragon and flying it and him and Danny thinking nothing of it even though only those with Targaryen blood can ride them. That entire scene was awful and handled far too light hardheartedly considering the ramifications of what it meant. Would have played out better if John rode the dragon after Samwell told him who is real father was. Bran just sat in the middle of Winterfell having a stare out contest with whoever happens to be passing through. Theon Greyjoy suddenly turning into a super ninja and rescuing his sister from the Iron Fleet without even breaking sweat. There was some good stuff in there but a rather clunky episode clearly trying to get some stuff out the way with quickly so they can lead into the battle with the White Walkers.

    Sarri - In or Out?

Mental that our Youth Team knocked Ajax youth team consisting of De Ligt, Van De Beek, De Jong and Kluivert out of the European competition a few years ago. Shows what consistent game time for talented youngsters can achieve down the line. Glad we've got Sarri giving minutes to CHO and RLC now. If he must go, bring someone in to continue this trend.

They'll definitely regret appointing Gunnar, we regretted appointing Di Matteo and he had a MUCH better track record than Gunnar did, Gunnar just won a lot of games with really good players who were glad to be rid of Mourinho.

If anybody calls Pogba an elite player, then they are lying. I have seen him have a handful of good games this season, but not once have I seen him put in a world class performance. This has been the case for 99% of his career at United. For somebody that is supposed to be one of the best players around, he rarely ever shows it. Hazard played better in one game against West Ham than Pogba has ever done for United.

    Antonio Rudiger

Antonio Rudiger is expected to still be available for the climax to Chelsea’s season despite suffering a knee injury against Liverpool on Sunday. While Rudiger told Standard Sport on leaving the ground that he hoped ‘it wasn’t too bad’, he went for a scan on Monday. It is believed the 26-year-old suffered only minor damage and any concerns that he might miss the rest of the season have been ruled out.

But that's just it- he IS better. Okay, maybe not EVERY game but if you've watched all three over a period of time (rather than just the Liverpool game), you will have seen that more often than not, Willian & Pedro flatter to deceive and actually give us very little whereas CHO can take defenders to the cleaners and provides us with so much more, especially a bit of genuine pace. Sure Willian and Pedro have the odd game where they play well but they are NOT the future, CHO is, hence the need to let him keep playing and to improve and learn from his mistakes - even if that does mean the odd ineffectual game now & again.

Fair enough, if that's your opinion. I must say that it's really hard for me to take anybody seriously that thinks CHO is as good or better than Willian and Pedro at this point in his career. Two or three years down the line, maybe, if he keeps working. That being said I don't think a quality discussion between us is possible since we are obviously lightyears apart considering our assessment of Odoi. I simply can't see what he has done that would warrant the status he has with you and many other fans.

    Nicolas Pépé

I remember we were being linked to him in January as well so there could be something to the rumour. I don't know anything about him but it looks like he's had a really impressive season for Lille with 19 goals and 13 assists in the league so far this season. Left footed but plays on the right. Looks like he had a good season before being to Lille as well scoring 13 for 14th placed Angers in Ligue 1. The last Ivorian we signed from France didn't work out so badly so I'm on board for this.

    Sarri - In or Out?

Weird comparison, film directors and football managers. I assume when you say they've never won an Oscar you're referring to "best director", which in this analogy would be the equivalent of winning manager of the year. Because if we're using this analogy Tarantino and Scott's films (the team effort) have 14 Academy Awards between them.

I've long thought that Woodward is United's biggest problem ... he might be good at the commercial stuff, but on anything to do with actual football he has no clue, and yet his long stream of expensive mistakes are still repeatedly indulged by the owners ... a bit like Marina then I guess 🙂

Absolutely mate, it's bonkers, but this is Liverpool FC we are talking about. sh*t never sticks to them. 34 years ago 30 odd Juve fans were killed when dippers fans charged them, we never hear about it, infact it was soon forgotten about by the club and media.

I think he is on a par with Willian and Pedro yet of course has more potential because of his age and perhaps pace. We can't compare exactly as they are all slightly different players. Willian and Pedro have both had moments this season yet also inconsistent and CHO has rarely been impressive on the Right for me. Note, Willian often plays on the Right though is also better on the Left.

Sad end for a club legend. Cahill has been an exemplary player for us a model professional on and off the pitch. Can’t say I agree with freezing out the club captain at all. Poor show from Sarri.
