    Antonio Rudiger

Antonio Rudiger is expected to still be available for the climax to Chelsea’s season despite suffering a knee injury against Liverpool on Sunday. While Rudiger told Standard Sport on leaving the ground that he hoped ‘it wasn’t too bad’, he went for a scan on Monday. It is believed the 26-year-old suffered only minor damage and any concerns that he might miss the rest of the season have been ruled out.

But that's just it- he IS better. Okay, maybe not EVERY game but if you've watched all three over a period of time (rather than just the Liverpool game), you will have seen that more often than not, Willian & Pedro flatter to deceive and actually give us very little whereas CHO can take defenders to the cleaners and provides us with so much more, especially a bit of genuine pace. Sure Willian and Pedro have the odd game where they play well but they are NOT the future, CHO is, hence the need to let him keep playing and to improve and learn from his mistakes - even if that does mean the odd ineffectual game now & again.

Fair enough, if that's your opinion. I must say that it's really hard for me to take anybody seriously that thinks CHO is as good or better than Willian and Pedro at this point in his career. Two or three years down the line, maybe, if he keeps working. That being said I don't think a quality discussion between us is possible since we are obviously lightyears apart considering our assessment of Odoi. I simply can't see what he has done that would warrant the status he has with you and many other fans.

    Jorginho is a Blue

Just don't think he's that good, even his best ability passing is a level below the top passers in this league. As many pointed out, the Italian league just isn't that good, our worst midfielder is playing a like a world beater at Milan, one of the best midfielder over there clearly struggles in our team. Sure, he's going to be better for a better team, I argue most midfielders would look good with City or Barcalona.

  15. 'When I took United to Stamford Bridge for what was our final game of the season, I was heartened by the reception I was given by the Chelsea supporters as I took my seat on the bench. The stands hummed with warm applause and The Shed chanted . I was very touched by this and reciprocated by holding my arms aloft and applauding all corners of the ground. The Chelsea directors and their guests were also welcoming- no hard feelings then.' page 311 This was 28th April 1973. Bobby Charlton's last game for Man Utd. Tommy Docherty. My Story The Doc. 17. Really bored of my playstation at the moment. Usually manage to fill my year with Fifa and Cod, but this is the worst Fifa i can rememer (since about RTWC '98), and CoD was fun at the start but Blackout really lost its shine.

I think he is on a par with Willian and Pedro yet of course has more potential because of his age and perhaps pace. We can't compare exactly as they are all slightly different players. Willian and Pedro have both had moments this season yet also inconsistent and CHO has rarely been impressive on the Right for me. Note, Willian often plays on the Right though is also better on the Left.

Are you seriously advocating a weaker starting lineup against rivals just so a single player has the chance to "take away from that experience"? What the hell is going on? Sorry, I prefer going into games with a higher chance of winning, especially against Liverpool. It was a gamble by Sarri and it failed. Hazard should've been on the wing from the start and CHO should've been on the bench where he belongs at the moment, with maybe some minutes at the end. We are not playing for CHO, he is playing for us. But that's just me I guess.

  25. I knew blokes who worked in the East and West Stand who would let you in sometimes for free when crowds were poor and a few quid or a couple of pints when you next saw them. All stopped when the MH stand was built they got moved but from about 88-94 I rarely paid officially. The Sunderland game in 85 me and my mates just jumped over the turnstiles in the West Stand and we weren't alone real anarchy that night so many two to a seat that night.

  27. The Villa Cup Final doubled up through the main gate turnstile with a mate who had a ticket. Thought I’d made it. Got caught by a nosey parker steward as we all shuffled up on our seats and slung out. Not sure how true but there’s a story about a fella in the queue with his ticket held out which got eaten by an OB horse. Bit dog eat me homework. Just thinking about the turnstile operators having their own fiddles, which would have made Bates go garrity ( Was there space for anyone in the turnstile huts other than the operators. I don’t think there would have been room for checkers to make sure all was above board) You couldn’t place someone outside cause they’d have been bang in the way. .... knows? Edit: Can’t remember the game but definately paid cash to a Shed turnstile operator for an all ticket event.

  28. Was a great night. I had a great view of Pat's headed goal from a cross by Kerry. Was usually Pat crossing for Dixon or Speedie. Was revenge for them beating us 4-0 at the Bridge a couple of weeks before.

  29. Damned if you do damned if you dont. Start him and we lose then he never should be playing against such opposition. Dont start him and then we lose and we hear how rubbish Willian and Pedro are and CHO should have started. He is young and will get better with games. So will RLC who, while 5 years older, is behind in his development due to injury. I appreciate Sarri is giving these boys a chance whereas previous managers ignored most young players in favour of the "safe" options. I may not agree with a lot of Sarris choices however in this case he is helping our future at least. Sarri has rotated in Christensen who Conte binned when he started making mistakes, Ampadu was starting to get a look in before his back/growing pains, now RLC and CHO are starting games. If Sarri keeps that up it strikes one big cord for me in him staying. The other needs to be winning the Europa league.

  30. Got to say Ersk I always thought the likes of John Wark, Kenny Burns, Joe Jordan and Souness if they weren't professional footballers they would have been on the pitch at Wembley 77. Swigging the obligatory can of McEwan's tartan bitter all day and going home with half of the pitch . Edit: and this Chelsea legend ?

  31. Couple of good pics. And yes, a very fine player. In a classic team, wearing a classic strip.

  32. Conte was spot on in playing him in a 3 CD defender, now we are seeing the Luiz we all remembered. He has the odd outstanding game in him, but consistency is his weakness, and it's costing us games when we aren't scoring at the other end. I reckon we should cut him loose at the end of the season, he isn't going to get better at this age.
